French cut crystal and 950 standard silver cruet set. Made France after 1838.Boat shaped silver cruet stand is a little over 9 inches long. It weighs 7.3oz.Quietly elegant, great quality silver. Edges with leaf and dart pattern. Cut crystal bottles similarly understated with beautifully cut sides and neck and folding curved, double lips. Bottles custom made to fit the silver containers. Stoppers with many cut facets have silver holding rings to rest on when pouring from the bottles.Silver is hallmarked on each of the bottle holders as well as underneath, where there is also a lozenge shaped maker''s mark. Silver is in excellent condition. No dings/dents. Bottles, marked with engraved numbers, in very good shape with one small shallow chip on bottom of one, hidden in the silver holder. A round lacquer box depicting a troika in a snowy winter scene. Made by the Vishnyakov workshop during the reign of Alexander III (19th century). Diameter is 3 1/2inches.Beautifully painted snow landscape on top of box. 2 woman passengers, a standing driver, raised arm urging on the horses, in a troika pulled by 3 horses. Condition of painting is excellent, especially considering the age of the piece. Unfortunatley, the lid is stuck closed. Almost certainly there is an Imperial award stamp inside, hidden from view. The rest of the box is in very good condition. The Vishnayakov lacquer works, founded in the 1780''s, was later to become the basis of the Fedoskino lacquer work group. Native American Indian beaded picture frame, dated 1911. Rare animal theme.Length is 10'' excluding the fringe and 12 inches including the fringe at the bottom. Approx 7 3/4inches accross widest point.Oval center with honey gold glass bead and golden sequin border.The cloth background is sewn with raised florettes of roses and budding foliage. Surrounding the coral bead date - 1911 - is a pair of cats / monkeys with raised green backs. Above these are small scurrying wild animals or beavers/ otters ? in clear and golden beads with tiny black eyes and red noses. Edges with old transparent beads that are slightly iridised due to their age. Condition is very good considering the age and delicacy of the item. The loop for hanging the frame from, on top is missing. There are a few weak points in the beading - eg bottom left corner and bottom left of inner circle. Miniature painting on ivory of a woman in a garden. Signed and dated by well listed artist, Paillet, 1908.Gilt frame measures 4 by almost 3 1/2inches. Ivory is a little over 3 1/4 height, and a little under 3inches wide.Painting depicts a posing aristocratic-looking lady with gentle curly hair under a large feathered hat, wearing a sleeveless dress, a shawl with minutely delicate painted flowers draped over one arm. In her other hand she holds a basket brimming with flowers - dahlias, peonies - all exquisitely painted. One arm leans on a pillar, along with an openwork wall that hint at Greek ruins in an English garden. Large trees and vegetation , beautifully painted, fade to the horizon. The quality of the painting is exceptionally good - masterfully controlled brushstrokes, tiny details, great play of light and shade. Signed PAILLET and dated 1908.Very good condition. KPM quality or better.Comes in double frame with gold velvet inbetween.Outer measurements are 14 1/2inchs wide by 17 1/2 inches long. Frame is gilt wood with quietly elegant green stripe on top. Great quality. The inner gilt bronze / ormolu frame in the form of a bow with medallion, flowers and sheathes of wheat. Georgian style gadrooning.Oval porcelain plaque is (sight) 9 1/2inches long. A little girl with wavy blond-brown hair and dressed in a sky blue (celeste) and white harlequin outfit looks over to the right. Quality of the painting is superb - the peachy skin looks totally realistic and soft. Cute snub nose and blue eyes. Signed by the artist M. Bironneau-Dupre. Mint condition. Vermaille gilt on silver and silver box with handpainted portrait of a child and her cat done on ivory. France, late 1800''s -early 1900''s. Soufflot et Cie.Measures slightly under 4 1/4inches long. Weighs 7.9oz, but this includes the weight of the glass covering the ivory.Oval shape with very refined decoration on raised rims, done in the Georgian style with beading and ''egg and dart'' patterns. Bottom, inside rim and inside of lid are gilt washed.The top has a miniature painting done on ivory of a little girl with her cat. The quality of the painting is superb. Blond hair and blue eyes with a bright and intelligent expression, the little girl rest her arm on her pet cat, a pink ribbon tied around it''s neck. Great detail from the peachy complexion to the tiny necklace around the little girl''s neck. Inside rim of box and inside of lid have French hallmarks for the .950 silver standard (better than sterling), used since 1879.The maker''s mark is MS over a hammer and Co. which is said to be for Soufflot et Cie, 28 Rue Chapon, 2 Hammers.Condition is excellent.
