Beautiful oil painting signed by Kansas artist, Helen Wendlandt. The painting is entitled, Heavenly Light and dated 1994. The frame measures approximately 65" x 49" and the painting is approximately 60" x 44". One gallery online offers paintings by Wendlandt in the range of $1900.00 to $2500.00 for artwork measuring 30" x 40" to 32" x 45" which are not as large as the one offered in this listing. So for this one my gallery estimate would be $3000.00+. I do not believe those price includes a frame. Even with added freight charges and professional packing, this painting is still far less than the gallery's prices. Further, the painting offered in this listing is quite a bit larger and includes a lovely frame. As for condition: The frame and painting are in excellent condition and ready for hanging. There is a brush spot of white paint in the river on the right side of the painting no doubt intentionally done by the artist. I do not know what the symbolism is but it most likely has to do with light. Price does not include shipping and handling charges.   « Less

WITH the frame it measures 26 1/4" x 22 1/2". The frame looks to be hand carved and in very good condition. Jerome J. Klapka was a painter and illustrator. Listed in Who was Who in American Art. Born in Czechoslovakia in 1888, he lived in Berwyn, Illinois. Studied: Art Institute of Chicago; W.F. Reynolds. Member: Chicago Gallery Assn.; Chicago Gld. Free Lance Artists. Exhibited: Art Institute of Chicago, 1933, 1935, 1937. Very good condition. Ready for hanging. It would look beautiful in an arts & crafts setting. Beautiful oil painting under glass by British artist Marmaduke A. Langdale, d.1905. He was a member of the Royal Academy. Approximately 15 3/4" x 19 3/8" WITH the frame and matting. WITHOUT the frame it measures 7 1/8" x 11". Signed lower left "M. A. Langdale. 1884." On the back of this lovely painting is a cut out showing the original back side with information on the artist and this painting. The middle insert reads, Painted by M.A. Langdale. "TURNER," Gold Medalist, Royal Academy, 1865. Late Autumn; Pollard Beech Tree; Burnham Beeches. The information under that is a list of TURNER (Landscape) Gold Medallists and Scholars which lists Langdale in 1865, et al. Marmaduke A. Landgale was a British artist who died in 1905. He was known for his landscapes, rivers, still lifes and flowers. Davenport shows that his paintings have sold at Butterfield's. Being under glass, this painting is in very good condition.   « Less
