Victorian, circa 1870 Large Holdcroft Majolica jardiniere decorated on either side with a peacock perched on a pink, blossoming prunus branch. Turquoise ground. Two handles in the form of an elephant head holding a ring in its trunk. Brown footed base molded as an oriental, carved wooden stand. Turquoise interior. Green underside with central vent hole and further vent hole behind each foot. Impressed ''JH'' monogram. Generally good. Some wear to interior at base. Kiln effect: ''crackling'' of the ochre glaze on the handles and around some parts of the rim. Repaired crack down one side, across the underside and up onto the base on the other side (latter part still showing). Two restored chips to underside edge. Restored chips to feet, one ring handle, both ears and one tusk of each elephant. Retouched flakes to the rim and in a number of places to the exterior. 19.5ins wide, 14.5ins high   « Less

Mythical horned masks sit between each Sphinx with garlands hanging between them. Turquoise ground. Flared ochre rim with green leaf decoration. Pink gadrooned border around the base. Pink interior. Typical mottled underside. Good. No hairlines. Slight wear to nose of one mask. Wear to underside. Repaired cracks to chest of one lady. Restored chip to nose of one lady, and restored flake to nose of another lady. Restored bruise to rim. Restored flake to nose of two masks. 13ins wide, 10.75ins high   « Less

Victorian, circa 1880 Minton Majolica centrepiece bowl which features three putti supporting a basket on their backs. Cattails/bull rushes form the stem of the bowl. Thought to be designed by Hughes Protat. Colouration: green, cream, brown, are predominant. The piece bears makers marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, ''784''. Circa 1910 Minton Secessionist jardiniere and stand. Decorated with tube lined stylized pink flowers with yellow centers. Light green ground with leaves and stems picked out in olive green. Spotted base to both pieces. Yellow to interior of both pieces. Three stilt marks to base interior of jardiniere. Drainage hole to top of stand. Printed and impressed maker''s marks to underside of both pieces. Generally good. Jardiniere: Some small flakes to exterior, and a couple to rim. Slight wear to exterior. Kiln effects: crazing on both sides, particularly to interior; over glazed manufacture chip and a touch mark to rim; some glaze run to exterior. Two restored rim chips. Stand: No restoration. Hairline to the top of column. Wear to the top, exterior and base. Kiln effects: shrinkage line from drainage hole; a few glaze pops to the top; some glaze run to exterior. 41.25ins high   « Less

Green interior with drainage hole and three stilt marks to interior at base. Stand in the form of a bowl with three scroll feet, each with a horned mask molded to the front. Ochre underside with vent hole behind each foot. Generally good. Jardiniere: Small rim chip. Slight wear to interior and cobalt ground. Repaired rim crack. Stand: Flake and some wear to inside edge. Stained crazing to interior. Kiln effect: over glazed shrinkage line to mouth of one mask. Restored chips to feet. 21.25ins high, 16.25ins diameter   « Less

Two chips to the foot rim. A few flakes to both ribbons, and one flower. Bruise to center of one rose. Some wear and water staining to interior. Three restored rim chips. Restored horn tip.
