Seven matching vintage M. G. Wheeler “Sight Light” floor lamps, patented in 1938 and 1940 by Leroy C. Doane. These industrial lights were designed for illumination of a work surface such as a desk or drafting table; the height is adjustable. Each lamp is composed of a pole on a round black base; a curved arm with a black shade can be moved up and down the pole as needed. These would be splendid for any Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, or industrial style décor. Each lamp measures 38” tall overall minimum and 50” tall when the arm is extended to the top of the lamp. These lamps have been professionally rewired. They measure approx. 18 ½” wide overall, with a 10” base and a 13” projection on the arm from the center pole. A large pair of brass 6’ tall lamps, circa 1920, designed either to be fastened to the floor or mounted atop a post. These five-light lamps feature heavy cast brass construction, each with a central column supporting five globes. The base of each lamp is ornamented with trefoil cutouts; the column comes up into finely cast foliate detail and branches into five arms, connected by elegant trefoil brackets and a cut-out band. Five shade holders each support a round glass globe. These lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired. Each lamp is 72” tall and 19” wide. The dark bronze finish base is complete with 5 Hubbell sockets and acorn pull chains on a reeded standard over a four lobe foot. The shade was designed to represent the CT countryside that the Handel designer viewed while traveling by train. A rare and desirable Handel that is a great investment. This is a fabulous antique floor lamp/torchiere! It is very very heavy. Takes two people to move it. This came out of an estate of a very wealthy individual. It is very tall. Stands approx 81" tall! This is not including the shade! Very ornate Neoclassical design. Fabulous festoon swag pieces! Rams head design. Hoof feet base. Possibly an E.F. Caldwell or Barbedienne piece but not known. Brass Looks as though it was possibly an oil lamp at one point in time then electrified. It is in working condition. I put a bulb in it to test it. Does have some aged wear on the metal. This is not one continuous piece. There are several pieces that make this lamp. There is a point in the center that could use a bit of adjusting. Comes with a fabulous green and white glass shade. This is a fabulous vintage piece in and of itself! Has one piece of leaf missing at the bottom of one of the legs.   « Less
