Vintage ring, three rubies and two clear stones. The clear stones were assumed to be white sapphires, but could also be good quality cubic zirconia. Band is stamped 18ct. It is a very yellow gold, and the face of the ring measures 5 mm by 17.5 mm. Stones are marquise-shaped, and the three rubies (tested as natural rubies) are each 4.8 mm by 2.7-3 mm. The other stones are 4.7 mm by 2.6 mm. Ring fitting is English size N (USA size 6.1/2) with an internal diameter of 16.95 mm. Shank is beveled, 2mm wide. All in very good condition. The ring size is English fitting P (USA size 7.1/2) with an internal diameter of 17.75 mm. We have a valuation for this ring, it gives the cabochon opal weight as 0.61 carats, and describes it as natural type 1 crystal, and a moderate very directional play of colour in mossy green, orange and purple.
