The purse closes tight and makes the perfect snap sound. Inside the lining is clean with the exception of a very small stain near the label and on the left side. This attached ceiling base follows down like a rounded tube and pipes up to a crown with a ribbed frosted glass shade their is (4) that circles around. The round band of etched frosted glass measuring 3" high X length 13 1/2" and sets on (4) flat arms that holds the band in place above the (4) ribbed glass shades. For Sale is a pair of Vintage Bronze clad Bookends made by Armor Bronze of New York City, New York. The subject is known as "Scholar Reading" designed by an American bronze sculptor, Gregory Seymour Allen. The bookends measure approximately 7 7/8" tall with a base measurement of 5 1/8" by 4 3/4". The Bookends depict an elder, long bearded scholar searching through volumes of leather bound books for an elusive answer to his latest hypothesis. The man is sitting on a step ladder perched against a tall book shelf full of reference books filled with great works of knowledge. There are a few books amiss on the hardwood floor on both sides of the step ladder as well as in front that he has already scanned and is intently reading an open book resting on his knees. He is wearing glasses and clothes of the period that signifying his lineage. The Bookends are considered to be in Very Good to Excellent Condition as the Polychrome finish is mostly intact with a few minor surface imperfections and paint loss. This is only mentioned for accuracy as there is one spot on the floor that has a tiny paint fleck missing which is shown and books on the top shelf have very minor paint loss from cleaning. Neither of the issues affect the integrity of this wonderful pair. This is the original mold from the Armor Bronze factory and these bookends have the Armor Bronze shield logo as well as G S Allen impressed into the backs of the bookshelves. Gregory Seymour Allen is a well documented sculptor from the late 1800's throughout the early 1900's. They each have their original felt with the foil label on the bottom. The shield shaped label reads "The ARMOR BRONZE CORPORATION NEW YORK CITY" and then "ARMOR BRONZE" in a circle. These beautiful bookends are guaranteed vintage and made Circa 1920-1929. These bookends weigh 12 pounds before being double boxed so they will ship at a higher cost because of weight.   « Less

Here is an ASHTRAY from the legendary DINO'S LODGE that was located on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles back in the late '50s and '60s! Old Timers will remember the television series 77 Sunset Strip. Dino's Lodge was featured as the place Edd "Kookie" Byrnes worked as a valet. Dino's was also seeen in several movies and TV shows! The ashtray is in excellent condition! Manifests signs of minor use but no chips and graphic of Dean Martin is bright and not yellowed! A small mark to the right of the "E" in lodge appears to be a small manufacturing imperfection and not a scrape. This ashtray will display beautifully in your collection!   « Less
