These heart of pine double doors are beautiful. Beginning with the transom, which displays a gorgeous window guard of six curled iron bands, this door showcases lovely metal work and ornate trim. The interior of this set supports unique, hinged, window frames, which can be opened inward leaving the iron window guards in place. This large oak door is very unique in that it holds four gorgeous figural panels of ruby to clear flashed glass. Hand cut by a master using the wheel cut method on flashed glass, when a gather of hot glass is dipped into a crucible containing hot glass of the second color and then re-fired in a muffle kiln to harden, which enables the artists to cut intricate designs. This particular door reflects the Aesthetic movement, featuring prominent use of nature, and incorporating flowers, birds, and leaves. This door is set up as a pocket door now, and showcases an Eastlake lock and pulls; however, as it would have been typical at the time for the owner of such a door to wish to “show off” the flashed glass by placing it at the entrance of the home, this door is so large and of fine thickness that it could easily be converted to an exterior door to suit the buyer’s needs. This door is in excellent condition, and is stained on one side and painted white on the opposite. These are 58”W 111” T and 2 ½” D.   « Less

This elegant solid bronze antique gate was salvaged from a home in Chicago; it was built in the 1800s. This gate is constructed of ten solid bronze, circular rods each one finishing in a bottom ball finial except the two outer rods for affixing. The two, solid bronze, outer out rods reach up to a delicate end curl, while the remaining eight rods finish off with a leaf and berry top finial. The center of the gate is crossed with two bronze bands, which once meeting with the rods creates a square shape. The center of each of these squares holds a circle of bronze. This gate is in very good antique condition; it displays no cracks or breaks. It does show a bend at the base of one of the outer rods (see last image), which can easily be restored. This attractive antique turn post newel is made of poplar and is matched with a very grand walnut ball finial (with minor chipping – see photos) topping the piece. The next section is made up of four rounded sides, two of which display handsome, large roundels. This newel post displays a fascinating twisted wood appearance making up the majority of the body, and meets a rounded section matching the top finial. The post finishes at a base which has been notched out to accommodate a step. This indentation can easily be restored to fit the buyer’s needs. This newel is really quite gorgeous, and it is in very good antique condition with minor chips throughout (see photos) that could easily be filled and restored by the buyer. This newel post is 7 ½” square at the top, 7” square at the bottom, and 52 ½” tall.   « Less

A fabulous 19th century Neoclassical style cast iron urn having unusual twist rope base, elegant round planter with two straps that hold large rings and a fantastic original faded white finish with some base iron showing. The base is detachable from the planter and both pieces are in very good condition with only a tiny crack at the top of one ring (pictured) which is hardly visible and does not detract from the beauty of this piece. This urn would look amazing in any formal garden or as a centerpiece in a foyer. The bottom of the base is 22'' in diameter, the overall height is 51'' and the overall width is 30 ''.
