Very attractive 5 diamond estate ring. Probably dates early part of 20th century. Mount is handmade in 18ct yellow gold and platinum. Stamped "18CT". Five in-line platinum-topped rubover collet settings with yellow gold pierced scroll design galleries. Tapered rounded shank. Diamonds are old European, old Swiss and single cut. They vary slightly, being G-H colour for the European, and F-G colour for the Swiss. all I1 clarity. (One small chip to plat.pavilion on one). Ring size is English size L (USA size 5.1/2) with an internal diameter of 16.10 mm. The ring has recent valuation, which will be supplied to the purchaser. Hallmarked 375 (which is 9ct gold), the maker's stamp of R & C, and Birmingham, England mark of the anchor. No date letter. Face of the ring measures 8 mm by 10 mm (5/16 inch by 3/8 inch). Bar brooch or pin, made in lovely green New Zealand jade (called greenstone in NZ). The end caps are 9ct gold, and are very ornate with applied banding and scroll engravings in the late Victorian style. It would date circa 1890s-1910. Measures 5.5 cm wide and 8 mm high (2.1/8 inches by 5/16 inch). No damage, probably a replacement clasp, but old work. All in excellent condition.   « Less

Rectangular smokey quartz stone mounted in 14kt gold - rather a Deco setting, emerald cut to the stone, with the shoulders splitting into two and forming the claws of the setting. Stone measures 12 mm by 7 mm (1/2 inch by just over 1/4 inch). The ring fitting is English size J (USA size 4.1/2 to 5) with an internal diameter of 15.52 mm. The mount and band are in excellent condition, the stone looks good to the naked eye - under magnification it shows abrasions to the facet edges, especially the lower edges. Hallmarks are unusually stamped underneath the setting of the stone, and are rather rubbed. There is another hallmark in the usual place, which just says "CT" - presumably the ring was sized down at some time, and the rest of the mark lost. Attractive ring, very classic lines.   « Less
