This is an incredible, very rare antique stained and painted glass window, dating from the 1880’s, made by the famous William Reith Stained Glass Studios. The window came from the St. John Nepomucene church at the corner of 9th and Wharton St. in Philadelphia. The window depicts Jesus as a shepherd, holding a lamb and surrounded by sheep, holding open a door. The roof of the building is festooned with grape vines and clusters. Above Christ’s head, the sky is composed of splendid curved glass panels, giving a three-dimensional effect to the picture. Above the scene is an arched panel featuring a triad of faceted honey jewels, flanked by two five-petal flowers with centers made from rock circular amber jewels. The entire window design is surrounded by a red border, followed by a pattern of purple glass alternating with blue faceted jewels. The window, including the frame, is 98 ½” tall and 42” wide, and is in excellent condition with just a few small hairlines in the border. There are also three other windows available, under item # NSG5-RW, # NSG10-RW, and # NSG12-RW. They came from the same church and are also made by William Reith.   « Less

This is a wonderful antique oak newel post, dating from the late 19th Century. It features a graceful, stylized acorn finial, below which is a ribbed half-moon, followed by a panel featuring a fabulous carved sunflower blossom with its leaves. The lower section of the newel features chamfered edges and fluted panels. There is a very small chip missing at the base of the newel post cap (see pictures), which is hardly noticeable, easily repairable, and does not detract from the beauty of this piece; otherwise, this splendid newel post is in very good antique condition. This is a great antique oak boxed newel post, circa 1905. It has an acorn-shaped finial and chamfered edges with a balustrade form detail. Each side of the newel features a fabulous sunburst roundel and is followed by fluted panels. This is a stately antique oak boxed newel post from the early 1900’s. It has a simple acorn-shaped finial and chamfered edges with a balustrade form detail. Each side of the newel below the finial features a handsome, large roundel. Below the roundels, the sides are fluted, with smaller roundels accenting the center of the fluting. This wonderful box newel post is in excellent condition. The finial has been stripped to display the beautiful grain of the wood. The newel is 54” tall and 7 ¼” wide.   « Less
