Circa. 1830 British A late Georgian 15K gold ring, tested with 15K acid. This ring has an amazingly contemporary look! A natural, untreated square-cut emerald with weight of approximately 1.50 carats. Emerald tested with refractive index liquid. Emerald measures 1/4" x 1/4" Also, mounted on the interior of the band is a triangular setting for hair. Obviously, this ring was also a memorial ring. Size 6 3/4 Can be easily sized by a jeweler. Georgian Diamond & Emerald Ring Circa. 1830 British This absolutely fabulous ring dates back to the end of the Georgian era and the beginnings of the Victorian Age. The ring is foil-backed, typical of Georgian era rings. However, the design (flower motif) and setting have a more modern "look" ascribed to the Victorian period. The center diamond is an old-mine cut with an approximate weight of .35 carat. There are (10) additional old single-cuts with an approximate weight of .80 carat and (2) cushion cut diamonds with an approximate weight of .06 carat. Total diamond weight is approximately 1.21 carats. All diamonds tested with a diamond tester. In addition, there are 20 table-cut natural emeralds with an approximate weight of .40 carat. All emeralds tested with refractive index liquid. The face of the ring measures 3/4 inch in diameter. Due to the detail on the shank, the ring can only be sized down without damage. Circa. 1720 -1740 British Giardinetto ring means literally a small garden ring. A type of finger ring of which the bezel is made in an openwork floral design and set with small gemstones of various colors. The stones are usually, but not invariably, arranged to form a bouquet of flowers, or a basket , or a vase holding flowers. Such rings were made in Italy in the late 17th and the 18th centuries. Also in England, where they were popular from the end of the 17th century until the end of the 18th. Those from the later period have open back settings. This ring has a closed (foil back) setting. The face of the ring measures 7/8 inch high and 3/4 inch wide. Silver back and 15K yellow gold top. Gold tested with 15K acid. Rubies and emeralds tested with refractive index liquid. Rose diamonds tested with a diamond tester. Size 7 3/4 Can be easily sized by a jeweler. A rare and spectacular ring.
