Victorian gold and amethyst earrings in exceptional design. Made 19th century, origin unknown. Measure approx 1 5/8inch from end to end. Overlapping elongated leaves rise up on the ear-lobe. A round amethyst bead in gold mount dangles from the bottom at a level below the ear lobe. Look stunning when worn. The earrings do not have hallmarks, but are guarranteed to be gold. The clips on the back are later additions, but the rest of the earrings are original to the Victorian period. Good condition. Victorian Scottish sterling silver, malachite, cairngorm and bloodstone brooch. Made 19th century - 1870-80, Scotland. Measures a little under 1 inch in diameter. Large faceted cairngorm - beautifully cut and faceted with diamond-like effect. Large stone stands well forward in the brooch. Surrounded by alternating green and red hardstones believed to be malachite and bloodstones, set in sterling silver, delicately engraved for further effect. Openwork gilt silver and amethyst necklace with mixed metal elements. Arts and Crafts late Victorian period - late 19th century. Total length is 18 inches. Fabulous design: Deep purple amethysts set in elegant design, suspended in the center of the necklace. On either side is a chain of round, oval silver openwork beads, intersperced with amethysts, first in pairs and then singly, echoing the larger drop in the center. Gilt is very light, whether originally so, or somewhat worn. The ends of the chain consist of a geometric silver links set with brass. No hallmarks to be seen, which is common for Victorian jewellery. Good condition. No damage to be found. Victorian brooch / pin in a gilt metal frame with an amethyst glass cameo of a woman''s head backed on French jet. Depicts Queen Louise of Prussia. Made mid 19th century. 2 inches high. Openwork gilt metal frame. Contains a black French jet oval on which is an amethyst glass head of Queen Louise of Prussia, who was beloved as a very good and beautiful woman. Neo-Classical hair and style. Great detail to hair, beads, bare shoulders. Beautiful play of light through the purple glass. Good condition with very minor roughness to edges, shown highly magnified in the ''photos. The beautiful Queen Louise was often depicted and a similar looking item (in real amethyst and gold) in Bell''s book on Collecting Victorian Jewelry, page 140 - priced at $5355.- is shown in the bottom photograph. Lapel pin / brooch made of 14k rose gold with hand etched surface and set with 3 round tri-colour Wedgwood plaques - circa 1840-50. England.A little over 1 1/2inches long.Rectangular bar with canted corners. Simple engraved decoration divides pin into 3 sections and forms border along the edge. Each section is set with a 3 colour Wedgwood round plaque - white, sage green and dark blue. Condition is excellent except for a minute white jasper speck missing from one of the plaques, clearly shown and magnified in the photos. Total length is 1 7/8inches long (including the loop). Diameter of jasper alone is just under 1inch.Round, slightly domed dark blue jasperware with a Classic mythological scene in white.Very delicate gold setting.Impressed mark WEDGWOOD on the back. No date letters, therefore pre-dates 1860.One side has a slightly rough edge (as shown magnified in photos),but otherwise no damage of any sort.
