DESCRIPTION:
This is an exquisite mahogany long case clock, which is of super grand proportions. It has an eight-day movement on a broken arch painted face with rolling moon. This truly is a majestic clock which has the most fantastic mahogany case and is incredibly detailed.
If we start with the hood, this has swan necks with arched moulded cornice and is finished which lovely brass pateras to the centre of the swan necks is a wonderful pediment. The hood door is beautifully inlaid with stringing and is flanked by superb cluster columns. Above the hood door is also inlaid and there is a superb oval inlay to the central pediment.
Moving down to the trunk, the lovely shaped triple peak full length door is flanked by cluster columns. The door contains the most wonderful flame of mahogany. The key hole has a lovely diamond shape of inlay.
The base is is again beautifully inlaid with stringing with the centre panel having a wonderful flame of mahogany, the front corners are canted and again have been beautifully inlaid. The base is then raised on lovely ogee bracket feet.
The eight-day movement has a broken arch painted face with rolling moon and subsidiary second dial and date aperture. The four corners are beautifully adorned with beautiful delicately painted flowers. The centre of the dial also has paintings of two wonderful exotic birds. The clock has the most very pretty fingers.
The dial bears the makers name Thos Holmes, Cheadle. In 'Watchmaker and Clockmakers of the World Volume 1 by G.H. Ballie' :

DESCRIPTION:
This is a wonderful 8-Day oak longcase clock which is in superb condition and is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. The dial is the most superb arched dial as can be seen from the photographs.
If we start with the hood, this has swan necks, which have lovely brass pateras. Lovely reeded columns which terminate in brass capitals flank the hood door. The door also has a very pretty little brass knob. There are straight back slates.
If we then move down to the trunk this has a lovely full length shaped door. The door is also complete with it's lock and key which are fully working and there is a pretty brass escutcheon.
The base is has an applied panel with a nicely moulded edge and is raised on bracket feet.
The dial is exquisite and has the makers name of 'M. Abraham, Newport Pagnell'. The four corners adorned with beautiful flowers and gilding whilst the arch contains a pretty painted cottage scene. The dial also has the most wonderful fretted fingers. There is one 'M. Abraham, Newport Pagnell' listed in 'Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World Volume 2 by Brian Loomes':
'ABRAHAM Miles. Olney and Newport Pagnell. married. 1768 - 1824.'
CONDITION:
The clock is in lovely condition as can be seen from the photographs. The movement is 8 day duration and is in perfect working order. As can be seen from the photographs the movement is lovely and clean having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced.
DIMENSIONS:
The approximate dimensions are:
- 84.5 inches to the top of the clock / 86.25 inches to the top of the finial
- 20.5 inches wide across the hood (measured across widest point).

DESCRIPTION:
This is a wonderful 8-Day Rolling Moon inlaid mahogany longcase clock which is in superb condition and is exceptionally detailed and stunning quality. The clock is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. This clock is absolutely perfect for anyone looking for a clock to place straight into their home.
If we start with the hood, this has swan necks. To the centre of the swan necks is a brass finial. The hood door is flanked by wonderful reeded Corinthian columns which terminate in exquisite brass capitals. The hood door is opened by a key and the lock and key are present and in working order.
If we then move down to the trunk it has a lovely shaped door which fits neatly into the trunk. It has been superbly inlaid with an urn and swags in Satinwood, Boxwood and other exotic woods. The door is also complete with it's lock and key which is fully working, and is flanked by canted corners. The door opens to reveal the lovely quality brass cased weights.
Finally the base also been beautifully inlaid with an urn and swags, in Satinwood, Boxwood and other exotic woods, which sets it off superbly. It is then raised on ogee bracket feet.
The dial with makers name of 'SEARLE & SONS, PLYMOUTH' has the four corners adorned with beautiful cherub spandrals. The dial is set out with ROMAN Numerals with small Arabic numerals above and between the numerals are lovely fleur de lis. There is a subsidiary second dial. The moon is beautifully adorned with the two moons and a lovely star filled night sky background. The dial also has the most wonderful shaped fingers.
The movement is eight day duration and is rack striking on a single bell. In addition to striking the hours it also strikes once on the half past. The movement is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. As can be seen from the photographs the movement is immaculately clean.

This is a lovely 8-Day Rolling Moon oak and mahogany longcase clock which is in superb condition and is exceptionally detailed. The clock is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. This clock is absolutely perfect for anyone looking for a clock to place straight into their home.
If we start with the hood, this has swan necks. Below the swan necks are beautifully glass panels. The hood door is flanked by full reeded columns which terminate in brass capitals. The door also has a pretty little brass knob.
If we then move down to the trunk it has a lovely full length shaped door which has been cross banded in mahogany. The door is also complete with it's lock and key which is fully working. The door is then flanked by quarter reeded columns.
Finally the base has canted corners which have been nicely reeded and the base has been cross banded in mahogany, which sets it off superbly. It is then raised on lovely shaped bracket feet.
The dial with makers name of 'Rt Parr, Prescot' has the four corners adorned with beautiful flowers and strasberries which have been framed with lovely gilded gesso work. To the centre are also two exotic birds. The dial is set out with Roman Numerals with small Arabic numerals above. There is a subsidiary second dial and date apperture. The moon disk is beautifully adorned with a a galleon, a lovely historic scene and two moons.The dial also has the most wonderful fretted fingers.
The movement is eight day duration and is rack striking on a single bell. The movement is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. As can be seen from the photographs the movement is immaculately clean.

This is wonderful oak and mahogany longcase clock which is exceptionally detailed. The clock is in perfect working order having recently been cleaned and serviced. This clock is absolutely perfect for anyone looking for a clock to place straight into their home.
If we start with the hood, this has swan necks which have lovely brass pateras. Pretty full turned columns flank the hood door. The door is mahogany and boxwood inlaid and has a pretty little brass knob. Above the hood door is nicely inlaid.
If we then move down to the trunk it has a lovely shaped door. The centre is inlaid with an oval containing flowers in an urn. The door is complete with it's lock and key. The trunk door is flanked by full turned columns. Above the door is inlaid with very detailed inlays. Then below the door is a panel with a lovely oval containing flowers in an urn to the centre and framed with detailed inlay. There is also lovely fine inlays below the trunk pillars.
The base has canted front corners and is cross banded in mahogany to the top and bottom. It has has a shaped applied panel which is cross banded in mahogany and has an oval inlay to the centre which incorporates a flower in a urn. Finally the base is raised on bracket feet.
The dial with maker’s name of 'B. Griffiths, TUNSTALL', has the four corners adorned with beautiful delicate flowers which have been created in superb colours. The arch has been beautifully painted with a lion. There is one 'B. Griffiths, TUNSTALL' listed in ‘Clockmakers & Watchmakers of Central England by Joseph McKenna':
