Antique, late 16th - early 17th Century, European Horseman's war Axe, possibly German, or Italian. The hand forge steel head, with angular cutting blade, and slightly curved cutting edge with tapering beak-shaped rear-fluke of flattened square section, mounted on the hardwood haft circular section with a mushroom shaped pommel.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length; 41 cm (16 1/8 in), length of the head; 16 cm (6 1/4 in).
CONDITION: In good condition considering its age, showing the age and usage, surface of the head slightly pitted, the wooden haft, loose, due to shrinkage of the wood. The wooden haft is a later replacement, the original haft was much longer than the present one. Free of any repairs or restoration.

Antique circa 1800 A.D. French Napoleonic Line Infantry Officer's Sword – Epee. Details: The gold gilt brass hilt comprising a boat shaped guard decorated with shell a pair of straight swelling quillons, knuckle – guard, and typical plumed helmet pommel ' retaining its original wooden grip bound with finely twisted copper wire, with sturdy straight single edged blade with a fuller engraved with martial trophies and foliage, marked at the ricasso with the maker initials.

CONDITION: The sword is in good condition considering its age, with signs of usage, gold gilding worn.

Antique, circa 1900.A.D. Imperial German Fireman's Helmet made of hardened thick leather with neck guard, and brass trim peak held by two brass studs, leather chin strap with black lacquered iron buckle fixed to the round brass cockades, interior with its leather liner, the top of the skull mounted with a brass comb.
CONDITION: In good condition, showing the age and usage, some cracking and imperfection to leather from age, otherwise good condition.

Overall length, from the front of the peak to the end of the neck - guard: 24 cm (9.5 in).

Inside is zinc coated and outside is chromed. Overall very good antique condition with normal aging and some minor chrome pitting, see photos.
A must have for the serious WWI helmet collection and a very rare bird!

Original era letter. A well written, very readable letter addressed to Brigadier General White, Louisa Kentucky, April of 1863. The content is a request for clemency for one T.H. McDonald of company B, 1st Squadron, O.V.Cav, sentenced to twenty days hard labor with ball and chain to be attached to his leg. The petitioner states that prior to the sentencing McDonald had been obedient and faithful to his duties. Folded, normal age and wear. Purchased as part of the collection of a 94 year old local WWII veteran, who collected Civil War memorabilia for most of his life. Please add $1.50 for shipping.

Original period manufacture. A well used example, all steel construction, and representing one of the more unusual variants of bayonets developed by Imperial Germany during WWI. Traces of the original black paint remain on the crank-style steel grip, with a simple steel guard with barrel rest, double edged dagger blade with markings on both sides of its ricasso. The blade is of polished steel, displaying staining on both sides, and measuring just under 6 inches in length. There are a few shallow nicks in the edges, more felt than seen, and the tip has been very slightly bentDent free heavy steel scabbard retaining traces of its original black paint finish, but having a very interesting soldier modified belt loop of feldgrau wool.
