Magnificent antique oil on canvas painting signed and dated Camille Bellanger 1877. Camille Felix Bellanger was one of the most talented and well schooled French artists of the 19th and early 20th centuries. He was born in Paris in 1853 and passed in 1923. Very few of his paintings have crossed the auction block. Most of his paintings are in museum collections. He was educated at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, The School of Beautiful Arts in Paris. He studied with the finest masters of the time. At the young age of 21 he won second prize at the Rome exposition. He went on to win many medals and prizes for his paintings. He became an art professor and went on to share his knowledge of painting to deserving artists. He became a knight of the Legion of Honor in 1911. This was the most important achievement any artist could attain. He was known for his exceptional paintings of historical subjects and nature. The painting we are offering is one his best works. It depicts a mythological wood nymph holding a tambourine. To her left is a Satyr term that appears to be glaring at her. This is a big beautiful mythological nude oil on canvas. It measures 56 inches high by 38 inches wide. The framed size is 65 inches high by 45 inches wide. The painting is in superb condition having been professionally relined, cleaned and preserved by the finest painting conservator in the U.S. All one needs is a wall to hang this masterpiece on and the ability to recognize and appreciate one of the worlds finest paintings. The painting is signed and dated in the lower left Camille Bellanger 1877. A painting by him sold at Sotheby's in 1989 . It was a later work 57 by 43 and dated 1893. It depicted Daphnis and Chloe a rather sad mythological subject of a shepard boy blinded by the nymph that loved him. That painting sold for $137,500. This one has the potential of being his first million dollar painting. This will be the most beautiful and cherished possession of the art connoisseur or collector who becomes its new owner. Money comes and goes in life. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire one of the finest known French 19th century paintings. (Item #55467) « Less

Extraordinary antique painting on porcelain plaque artist signed E. Schade (listed German painter on porcelains born in Munich in 1840). E. Schade is considered the finest painter of porcelain plaques from the 19th century. This is only the second plaque signed by this artist that I have owned or seen in 45 plus years collecting, buying , selling and appraising antiques, fine art and estate and antique jewelry. This subject is extremely desirable, it is a unique painting on porcelain unlike the ones signed and painted by Wagner who painted many of the same subjects over and over again. Wagner was a very well known and very talented painter of porcelain plaques who painted hundreds of them. Schade's works are all unique subjects. This plaque is one of the most beautiful and desirable plaques one might ever hope to find. The subject is a beautiful nude lady lying on a daybed outside on her balcony. The background has beautiful sky, mountains, trees, and clouds. She is so well painted she looks alive, you can hear her breathing. Behind her is a lovely cherub about to crown her with a wreath of flowers. This KPM plaque is signed in the lower right E. SCHADE. This extraordinary KPM artist signed painting on porcelain plaque is from my own collection and has never been offered for sale since I bought it quite some time ago. The plaque itself measures 11 inches wide, by 9 inches high. It is in extraordinary condition. The painting has a very warm glow. This is perhaps the finest KPM painting on porcelain plaque that has ever been offered for sale on the internet. It is set in a custom frame which is also in excellent condition. This magnificent plaque is guaranteed to please the most particular collector or connoisseur. (Item #72320) « Less
