This lamp I believe is from the 1920''s or 30''s. The center of the lamp is porcelain with hand painted design work. The base color is a real pretty light mint green with goldleaf accents, a peacock is the main feature on the front of the lamp. The finial on top matches the center porcelain of the lamp. The metal base has a goldtone finish. The lamp has been rewired. It stands 32'' from top of harp ( 35 1/4'' to top of finial) and has a 5 1/2'' base. The lamp comes without a shade. This is a unique pair of lamps, crafted from antique forged iron plant stands that date from the 1800’s. Each stand is composed of three bands, curled at the top, coming down to catch the concave iron disk on which the light rests, and continuing down to form three legs, which extend outward. Each leg is reinforced by a riveted, curled bracket. The lamp wire is concealed within an iron pole in the center of each stand. The bulbs are hidden with decorative candle-covers, which are designed to mimic large pillar candles. The lamps are in excellent condition and have been professionally wired. A fantastic pair of early 20th century Art Nouveau lamps in original, beautifully aged finish; having balustrade-shaped and foliate detailed body, leaf-and-dart detailed base, fabulous urn shaped tops with flower designs, and spun brass caps with flower bouquet finials. The lamps retain their original curved ribbed amber glass panels. The caps are removable so the light bulbs can be changed. Titled "The Spirit of the American Doughboy", he is lighting the way for the rest of the world. This is an original American Doughboy lamp by E.M. Viquesney, and memorializes the WWI American soldier. This lamp was made in Americus, GA between 1921 and 1925, is extremely rare and in excellent, excellent condition. These lamps were made from a soft white metal with either tin or lead, making them very soft and subject to damage. Most of these lamps that are still around are in very poor condition because of this. This one is great except for the end of his rifle. It has broken off. I do have the broken piece minus the small attached bayonet. There may also be a small nut missing on the back where the cord goes into it. The lamp does still work. It stands approximately 14" tall to the top of the socket. (Not including the bulb)   « Less
