Miniature Louis XVI style chest with exquisite parquetry on four sides showcasing exotic woods; which include walnut, lemon-wood, kingwood, ebonized wood, and olive wood. Three functioning drawers with original bronze hardware and escutcheons. From the Transitional Napoleon III period(1848-1870), this piece was the master work of a cabinet maker's apprentice, who after completing this antique was permitted to create full scale furnishings. In the traditional form of the period, with carvings of fluted legs, egg and dart designs, free standing urns, all wrapped with floral wreaths and bouquets.
