Without a doubt, this credenza represents the finest quality of materials and artisanal skill that we have seen. The exquisite flame mahogany, complemented by a series of satinwood inlays, produces a striking effect, while hand-finished and hand-distressed surfaces enrich the natural beauty of the wood''s grain and complexion. Antiqued solid-brass swan neck pulls and hardware form a perfect contrast to the wood, while the escutcheons on each of the cabinets and doors house functioning locks. A writing surface of fine, brown leather, far superior to wood, glass or metal, makes an exquisite addition to the credenza, as it is bordered by embossing and hand-worked gold tooling. In addition to the various drawers, file drawers and shelves that provide a huge amount of storage, there is an interior printer slide and two writing slides pull out on either side of the hidden keyboard drawer. The bird''s eye yew, a variety of wood that has been favored by English cabinetmakers for centuries for its exotic appearance, displays an incredibly rich complexion and a striking grain. The antique style brass hardware complements the yew beautifully, while traditional Georgian style satinwood inlays on each of the cabinet doors make lovely accents. As useful as it is beautiful, this breakfront sideboard also provides plenty of storage space, with a total of three locking cabinets (the center of which is twice as wide as the others) and four drawers. This sideboard rests on a traditional English plinth base, which in turn rests on removable casters. The flame mahogany displays a fine, rich grain and lustrous complexion, while the satinwood fan inlays on the lower cabinet doors provide a gorgeous contrast and the antiqued brass hardware looks lovely. An optional cornice accompanies this cabinet as well; without the eight-inch pediment, this cabinet measures 76 inches tall. Dental moulding adorns the top of the cabinet, while astragal glass moulding frames the upper doors, which lock with an accompanying key (as do the bottom doors).
