This chest has been re-made with stunning mahogany veneers and intricate satinwood inlays, including optional fan-inlay designs on the top as well as banding around the top and drawer fronts. Crafted using a traditional two-over-three drawer design, each drawer boasts brass swan neck handles and dovetailed joints, just like those found in antique furniture. Resting on sturdy shaped bracket feet, these chests are strong, beautiful and will continue to grow more beautiful for generations to come!   « Less

The flame mahogany displays a striking grain and lustrous complexion, while antiqued solid-brass hardware and optional inlaid satinwood banding form a lovely contrast to the wood. The shaped skirt makes an elegant complement to the shaped bracket feet, which rest on casters for easy movement. Each of the five, large drawers features dovetailed joints-just like antique furniture-and plenty of storage space. The pulls on this chest were replaced, so small, barely visible lines trace the pulls where oval pulls once were. Also, the top of this chest developed a small amount of spotting during the finishing process.   « Less

From the materials used to the production process, its quality is exceptional. The mahogany, for instance, displays a rich grain and lustrous complexion that could only be produced by the hand-rubbed finish that makes this chest such a beautiful piece of antique style furniture. String inlays and solid brass Georgian-style hardware complement the mahogany beautifully, while the shaped apron and splayed feet also look quite lovely. Perhaps the most striking aspect of this chest, however, is its square shape--the top, having no moulding or lip, conforms seamlessly with the sides in the Georgian caddie style that gives this chest its name.Not only is this chest a beautiful work of craftsmanship, but it also provides plenty of storage space with a total of four drawers, each of which features dovetailed drawer joints. Many people take advantage of this feature, combined with its small size, to use it at the bedside or as a useful replacement for an end or hall table. The burl walnut displays a fine, rich grain and lustrous complexion, while the satinwood fan inlays on the lower cabinet doors provide a gorgeous contrast and the antiqued brass hardware looks lovely. An optional cornice accompanies this cabinet as well; without the eight-inch pediment, this cabinet measures 76 inches tall. Dental moulding adorns the top of the cabinet, while astragal glass moulding frames the upper doors, which lock with an accompanying key (as do the bottom doors).
