A native of Vienna, Austria moved to America @ early age, and worked for a diamond cutter in New York City at age 16. He is considered an American designer and while he was at school learned to capture the world of fine jewelry. in 1950's he was united with several craftsmen and fashioned his design to reality while working with finest jewelry maker and material for his jewelry. Erwin Pearl brought fashion & artistry to his design. Square Art Deco shape to this diamond and emerald cluster ring. The hallmarks inside are worn and unreadable, but the gold tests as approx. 16ct. (Probably 15ct - which would date this ring before 1932). The stones are mounted in white gold. Ring face measures 9 mm square. The central emerald-cut square emerald has a chip out of the surface. Tiny single-cut diamonds are mille-grain set, and are all in very good condition. Ring band measures 1.5 mm thick, a popular style at the 1920s-30s period. The fitting is English size R (USA size 8.3/4) with an internal diameter of 18.79 mm.   « Less

As the hallmark is for 1964, either JG lost her wedding ring and this is the replacement, or it has been upgraded to 22 ct gold on their 15th anniversary. Maker's mark is "B's" in a shield stamp. Bevelled band, 3 mm wide. Ring fitting is British O (USA size 7) with an internal diameter of 17.35 mm. Very good condition, just normal light wear.
