Chinese reverse paining on glass c1850. This reverse painting on glass depicts five Chinese walking along a road with hills in the back ground and wearing Chinese robes. Measures 21 and one half inches high by 15 and one half inches wide. The wooden panel on the back is held in with fine hand made wooden wedges. Antique Chinese hand painted wooden lunch box 19th century. This antique Chinese wooden storage box has two covers which can be removed or lifted to put food inside. The hand swings back and forth and is hand carved depicting two Chinese women cooking. This wooden box retains all its original red paint and hand painted flower design that is all over the top and sides. Excellent condition with one small piece of carving missing on the handle. This antique lunch box measures 6 inches to its top, 13 inches to the top of its handle and 11 inches across. The imagery tells a legendary love story where by a young scholar falls in love with the landlord's daughter. Unfortunately, the mother-in-law to be does not accept him with his Royal Exam pass to make him a high ranking official. While he goes off to the capital to take his exams, another suitor comes to steal the daughter! The imagery is very detailed and beautiful.
