Circa 1800-1820 Chinese Export Rose Mandarin Punch Bowl measuring 15 1/2" in diameter and measures 6 1/2" in depth. This is definetely a one of a kind punch bowl. It has a Single Motiff going completely around the bowl on the outside. It also has a continous border at the top of the bowl decorated with beautiful butterflies and roses. The inside of the bowl has the central scene on the bottom separated by the greek key border and four quadrants depicting the royal entourage of the emperor in his chariot being pulled by many of the people. One of the quadrants portrays a man chopping a pig's head. Very much gold in and out and through out in this wonderful bowl. Great Quality and fabulous detail telling a story. Circa 1820 Chinese Export Rose Mandarin Punch Bowl measuring a UNBELIEVABLE 21" in Diameter. This is the largest Punch Bowl in Chinese Export Porcelain that Mimi's Antiques has ever owned or seen. I have heard stories of 21" punch bowls but this is a first for us. The quality is absolutely breathtaking. Wonderful panels of mandarin scenes inside and outside of this Fabulous Bowl. We have taken many pictures of this bowl for you to view. Additional images are available upon request. It has the greek key border that should date it to Circa 1820. Circa 1820 Chinese Export Rose Mandarin Punch Bowl. This is a very superb quality punch bowl featuring the greek key border on the inside and outside of this very well decorated bowl. The outside and the inside of this bowl has four quadrants of just wonderful decorated mandarin scenes separated by flowers and scholar scenes. Then it is flanked by a central on the bottom scene separated by the greek key border. Minor rubbing, but this bowl is in Excellent Condition and Very Good Quality. The rim of the base has a few firing frits but other than that it is in perfect condition with no restoration. The bowl measures 9 1/4" in diameter and is 3 3/4" in height and depth.   « Less

During the late 18Th and Early 19TH Centuries, these factories or hongs served western traders as warehouses, offices and residences. This trading system was established in 1757 by the Manchu Dynasty to eliminate contact between the chinese people and "FOREIGN DEVILS" This is a Reproduction made by Mottahedeh for the Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, Delaware. Antique Chinese Export Hong Bowls from the 18TH. Century bring over $1000,000 at Auctions and Antique Shows. Mildred Mottahedeh was one of the largest collectors of Chinese Export Porcelain. She love it so much that she and her husband Raffi opened a factory in Portugal many years ago to reproduce these fine antique examples.
