Description: These really are a unique and wonderful pair of Italian Venetian dwarf blackamoor torcheres or lamps which stand in at an impressive 7.5 feet each. They are a perfect left and right and each holds the large vine which leads to the white frosted glass light shades. These are pre- electrified for the English market - it would be easy to adapt them for other countries using an adaptor bought at any hardware store. They are ornately cast from bronze; black for the arms, face and feet and ornate gold for the rest. These are an important pair and are of a museum quality. The casting is incredibly intricate. Look at details like the intricate headress and the fabulous designs to their dresses. I hope the photos do this pair some justice as they are definitely better in the flesh. We bought these at an auction in York where we were told they had lived in a rectory for many years.
