Circa 1950 44" wide by 41" high (Weighs about 40 pounds.) This is a beautiful print that hung for many years in my Mother''s Chinese living room that we weren''t allowed to walk in. The frame is gold leaf and hand painted with gray decorations around the frame. The bracer bars are gold painted wood with loss of color in many places. The loss of gold gives the feeling of an overall patina in a positive way. The framed Asian lady in the center of the frame is garbed in a hand washed turquoise gown trimmed in gold. She is playing in her treasure box and holds a strand of pearls. She is on a black background and is accented with flowing foliage and bamboo of gold. In my youth I hated this piece but carted it around after my Mother died unwilling to release something that meant so much to her. It came from a high end decorator in Beverly Hills. It recently hung in the master bath of a house I built for clients and it looked fabulous to me. It weighs a lot and will need to be professionally crated and shipped by a great shipper at the buyers expense and arrangement.   « Less

Circa 1905 25 1/2x 25 1/2" This is a stunning lithograph on linen copyrighted in 1905 by Campbell, Metzger and Jacobson. It features a beautiful young woman''s head and shoulders standing amongst the Autumn foliage. She has lovely features and wears a fabulous Arts & Crafts style necklace. This is one of my favorite pieces. It has been part of my lovely lady series since the early 1980''s. I purchased her from a vintage art galley in Scotland. The fame is oak and the inner filet is gold. The condition is excellent.   « Less

Circa 1918 22" wide by 20" high This is an English oak framed printed lithograph of Apollo & Daphne originally painted by Henrietta Rae. It was printed as one of three pieces as a prize given by Pears soap. The frame has a gold filet. The print is slightly creased and has foxing. It has been in storage for many years. Circa 1908 12" high by 18 1/2" wide This is a vintage lithograph of Icarus "After the Fall" in it''s original frame. It features the beautiful and tragic Greek mythology character who flew to close to the sun. In an attempt to rescue his Father from prison Icarus and Daedalus fashioned wings of feathers to fly away. Icarus flew to close to the sun and dropped to the sea and rocks below and drowned. This is a fabulous old print with the character draped on the rocks, his wings still aglow from the sun. The full story can be found in Ovid Metamorphoses. Circa 2000 15” high by 13” wide framed 10 ½” high by 8” wide unframed This is a stunningly beautiful watercolor on silk painted by Helen Larsen. The color are outstanding and each face is punctuated with a silver border. Water color is one of the most difficult mediums of art. Being done on silk is a miracle. Helen says “ the liquid colors flow and glide through the silk with an artist’s touch and focus”. Our artist is a retired college art teacher and a member of the Watercolor Artist Society of Sonoma County. The artist lived in Hawaii for years and has an excellent memory for the warmth of both the native population and the climate. This is represented in her work.   « Less

Circa 2000 8” wide by 10” high framed This is an exception framed artwork of an older native Hawaiian woman sitting in a chair. What makes this such a special piece is that it is hand painted with watercolors on silk fabric. The artist is Helen Larsen a Santa Rosa artist who was an art teacher in Hawaii and at Iowa State College In her younger days. She is listed as a member of the Watercolor Artists of Sonoma County and she describes her technique as liquid colors that flow and glide through the silk with an artistic hand and trust in the outcome. The colors are rich and deep.   « Less
