Tiffany Studios 539 bronze lamp base with original patina. The base has been rewired some time in the past and operates fine. The base is shown in the authoritative books titled Tiffany at Auction by Alastair Duncan, pg. 285, plate 889 and Koche's book, pg. 195, plate 40. The lamp base is fitted to a fabulous period geometric shade which is unsigned. The shade is composed of rare ripple curtain border glass and slag in various shades of molted green and amber. A fine lamp measuring 19" tall and 14" wide priced very reasonably at that of the Tiffany base alone. « Less

Fine Pittsburgh Sailing Ships lamp measuring 12" wide and 19" tall. The lamp is all original, in excellent condition with no damage, and marked with the Pittsburgh shop mark under the base. The base has a wonderful hand painted decoration of ships at sea with blue crashing waves in the foreground. The base is dark bronze coloration with overspray that simulates the Verde green that forms on the metal on seagoing vessels - a very beautiful accompaniment to the scene of the shade. One rare Century old Handel lamp to survive this long. The lamp measures 18" high with a 10" wide shade, which is signed Handel and numbered 1042 (see picture). The hand painting is superb and very colorful. These type of lamps are discussed in the Hibel/Fontaine book. pg 17. Porcelain vase blanks manufactured in Germany & France were fitted by Handel with metal mounts designed to be fitted to the porcelain making them into lamp bases. A line of 10" shades were introduced and the base and shade were similarly decorated by Handel decorators. The lamp is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. « Less
