We are pleased to offer this large and heavy oriental platter. Marked on the back with 3 impressed characters, the letters s and o and the number 1. The platter is either ironstone or porcelain, based on the weight could very well be ironstone. Superb condition, no chips, cracks or repairs. The length is about 18 1/2" and its about 13 1/2" wide. It tapers upwards to a height of 2 3/4". Central theme of a pagoda and pond in blue and white. This is English in origin I believe.

For sale is this lovely English ceramic or porcelain pitcher, possibly Liverpool, circa late 1800's. A fine ring turned body leads up to a grapevine pattern in relief along with 2 bands, also in relief. Good condition, no chips, cracks or repairs. There is some residue on the handle we believe to be from the kitchen, possibly grease. The pitcher has a height of 7 3/4". No maker mark, and somebody named Frances put there name in red on the bottom. « Less

A 19th century stoneware jug that stands about 13 3/4" high. There is a stamp over the bird reads Brady & Ryan Ellenville NY and also the number 2 is over that. Brady & Ryan (Samuel Brady and Jon Ryan) were in business between 1878-1897. The cobalt brushed bird standing on a branch is mildly faded but still has a great primitive look. One rim chip on the bottom as shown, and a couple of glaze pops that have been touched up. Otherwise very good overall condition.

A late 1800's American majolica compote made by Griffen Smith Hill (Pennsylvania). Colorful pink and cream colored daisies with green leaves and a green and blue main color. The interior of the bowl is pink. Stands 5" high and the top diameter is 9". There is a rim chip as shown and there is crazing normal with age. Marked on the bottom. The colors have remained strong with age.
