A wonderful vintage industrial Woolworth store display rack with eleven original “internestable” shopping baskets, patented in 1957 by Benjamin Gold, patent 2785725 (the patent can be viewed at http://www.freepatentsonline.com/2785725.pdf). The wire shopping basket rack features signs that read “Use basket for easy shopping. Woolworth’s.” The baskets feature fabulous 1950’s patterns – three are a turquoise color with a paisley variation pattern, and the others are red with a great mid-century diamond pattern. Please note that we recommend using these for display or decorative storage only, as the stitching has weakened with age and may not hold up to sustained use. One joint of the rack is also in need of a minor welding repair (pictured). Each basket measures 17” by 10 ½” by 7”; the rack is 40” tall, 19 ¼” wide, and approx. 13 ½” deep. NSF1-RW   « Less

: Moroccan Rugs have become the rug of choice for many interior designers as well as private consumers. They don't have a long history and are most notable for their dynamic colorful modernist designs as well as for their strong sense of geometric structure (and abstract designs). None so far are datable to before the mid nineteenth century, when their production began as an adaptation of central and western Turkish rugs, whose repertoire Moroccan rugs followed closely. Moroccan rugs are nevertheless distinctive in their bolder coloration, and in the more block-like geometry of their composition. The most famous of all were the rugs that were made by the Beni Ourain tribe in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The Beni Ourain Rugs from Morocco are easily recognizable - they are almost always Ivory background, shaggy pile and abstract geometric patterns. What makes Moroccan carpets so desirable these days is the fact that they are so modernist and simplistic - both in color and design -and are considerably less expensive than most of the other antique or vintage rugs in the market today. The vintage, mid-century rugs from Morocco were never made in large sizes - because they had to move from place to place, the people who wove them had to keep the width to under 7' (about), otherwise the loom would be too large and cumbersome to mount as they move from place to place. These rugs can be also used as transitional pieces by giving a youthful and whimsical feel to any room decor.   « Less

This 48 yr old "Near Mint" Vintage Solid Hand Carved Maple-Solid State 350 watt Stereo Bar Console (1964) by Sound Design is a Home Stereo/Am/Fm Tuner/Cassette/8-track/Turntable Bar Console. The hidden Speakers are 12" Jensen Woffers w/Jensen Horns. Solid Dark Maple Wood construction in Near Mint condition-inside & out. It features a lift top with access to the AM/FM tuner, 8-track, cassette player/recorder and record payer. It is in Great physical condition & outstanding mechanical/electrical operating condition. You won't believe the stereo sound this 350 watt system puts out! As for mechanical condition, the AM/FM tuner works excellent, The record player turntable works excellent, as does the 8-track tape player. Comes with Original operaters manuel. This is a made in USA piece that you might never see again.
