A pleasing oil on canvas, unsigned, likely dating the 1930's-40's. The scene is an 1800's period dressed woman walking towards her homestead with a basket on her right arm.  More »

A pleasing oil on canvas, unsigned, likely dating the 1930's-40's. The scene is an 1800's period dressed woman walking towards her homestead with a basket on her right arm. The painting is large, measuring 28 1/2"x 16 1/2" and with the wonderfully ornate original frame it measures 35 1/4" x 23 1/2". The frame has a couple of nics and the bottom right corner is beginning to deattach. As for the painting, there is a small crease? in the sky as shown. There is loss top right corner, bottom right corner (all right against the frame). There is a loss line bottom left corner. Overall none of that really interferes with the beauty of the painting. The painting comes off as soft and inviting and would look great over a fireplace. More pictures available upon request.   « Less
