Circa 1770 Chinese Imari RARE Reticulated Chestnut Basket in Excellent Condition. Great Early 18TH Century Quality. We have had reticulated baskets in rose medallion, rose mandarin,blue canton, nanking and very few 18TH Century chinese export american market but this is the first one we have seen in Chinese Imari. This piece is of Excellent Quality and found in Pristine Condition. Handles are in tact which is unusual. Measures 8 1/2" from handle to handle and 6 1/2" from front to back and is 3" in height to top rim of basket. Wonderful cobalt blue decoration with imari orange fired on a white background. Light blue decoration on inside of basket just below the handles.   « Less

During the late 18Th and Early 19TH Centuries, these factories or hongs served western traders as warehouses, offices and residences. This trading system was established in 1757 by the Manchu Dynasty to eliminate contact between the chinese people and "FOREIGN DEVILS" This is a Reproduction made by Mottahedeh for the Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, Delaware. Antique Chinese Export Hong Bowls from the 18TH. Century bring over $1000,000 at Auctions and Antique Shows. Mildred Mottahedeh was one of the largest collectors of Chinese Export Porcelain. This is a new one on me and I simply could not resist it. This is a Mid 19th Century Blue Canton Dinner Plate measuring 9 7/8" in diameter. The plate has been hand painted with a scene of Gay Head Cliffs on Martha's Vineyard. This plate was probably sold as a souvenir and around the bottom rim there is writing that says "SOUVENIR OF OAK BLUFFS" which is the name of a town on the island. Art work is actually really good and obviously done by a art student or a skilled artist. Plate is in Excellent Condition with the exception of some light wear to the painting and one repaired chip on the plate.   « Less

Circa 1840 Chinese Export Blue Canton Master Salt 4" X 3 1/4" Across the top and 1 1/4" in height. Nice blue canton scene in a nice blue color with port and water with bridge and pagodas in the background. Some fritting around the top edges and two minor chips. The bottom of the salt has the typical rain and cloud border. We just purchased two of these salts out of a St. Louis home and the other one is being listed separately. Mid-Late 19TH Century Royal Vienna Painting on Porcelain Plaque. On the back of the plate is the bee hive mark and also is a blurred hard to make out name on what appears to be in the shape of a flag. Carlsbad Fine Porcelain.. The plate itself measures almost 11" actually 10 7/8". Plates this size are ofter referred to as chargers. I believe the factory was in Vienna, Austria. Different European countries including Berlin in Germany had factories that produced these romantic scene plaques. One of the companies was KPM-which was the Kings Porcelain Manufacturer. Their plaques were made in Berlin and became very popular and today they are Very Expensive. Some of these plaques could sell for over $20,000 depending on how complex the scene was.   « Less

Circa 1820-1840 Chinese Export Large Blue Canton Water Pitcher measuring 7" in height. Fresh out of a North Shore Estate along with a Platter. This is one of the tallest pitchers that we have had. Usually you see ones that are 4"-5" in height. They came in about 8 sizes and my dream is to own a complete set. This pitcher is in Very Good Condition with only some minor fritting around the edges of the top from probably years of use. A firing mark on the bottom rim of the base. The height to the top of the handle is 7 1/2" and spout to back of handle measures 10 1/4". Excellent Condition in a nice medium blue color. The bottom of the base measures 5 1/8"   « Less
