Antique sterling silver brooch in the form of a bird in the Victorian, Egyptian Revival style, made circa 1870-80. Measures just under 2 1/4 inches long. Weighs 5.8 grams. Marvellous shape in openwork silver: the bird manages to combine both naturalistic and stylised elements, easilly identifiable, yet with long, curving wings, concentric patterned arches depicting feathers, reverse series of very Egyptian style smaller wing shapes closer to the body and a bottom that spreads out and curls around, ending in scrolls, signifying the tail. Fine modelled head and detail including eyes. Original secure clasp and pin. Hallmarked 925 for Sterling silver on the back. Good condition. Antique, Victorian, Neo Etruscan earrings. Test for at least 14carat gold, filigree and set with tiny emeralds and natural pearls. Date approximately 1870-80, European or English in origin. Weigh 3.7grams. Approx 5/8 inches long. Earrings consist of a pair of interlocking circles / loveknots - each a tube of gold, the fronts decorated with fine filigree and granulation and set with tiny emeralds and natural pearls. The design is typical of a modern, 20th century, pre-dating it by almost 100 years. Still maintaining the exquisite Victorian workmanship. Classic elegance - these earrings can be worn by day with casual, or by night with smart attire. Tested at least 14k gold. Good condition. No damage/loss to be found. Weighs 17.4grams. 9 large, oval amethysts, facet cut around a flat top, with lovely deep violet colour. Colette set in gold bands with filigree borders. Stones protrude from links of finest gold filigree in a spider web design. Each link joined to it''s neighbours on either side, by 3 tightly set hinges. Secure clasp as well as gold safety chain. Antique, Victorian brooch in the form of a crown. 14 carat gold, diamonds, opals and turquoise. Circa 1860 - 1885. Approx 1 5/16inches accross widest part. Weighs 6.2grams. Length of largest turquoise approx 8 mm. Opals approx 4mm in diameter. 27 tiny rosecut diamonds. Beautifully crafted in 14 carat gold with some silver setting for the diamonds. Crown curves gently. Swooping arches end in overlapping foliage set with diamonds, each pair supporting an oval turquoise set in gold colettes with crimped borders. A band of similarly shaped diamond foliage alternates with a pair of lovely opals, with good iridescence and flash. Finally, a narrow band of diamonds provides a sense of perspective. Secure clasp. Antique Victorian / Edwardian Art Nouveau festoon necklace. 18k gold, diamond, pink sapphire and natural pearl. Made circa 1895-1910, France. Measures 14 3/4 inches long; weighs 13.2 grams. Length of sapphire is approx 1/4inch (8mm). Classic Art Nouveau design with a central, openwork jewel that falls somewhat below the throat. Joined by swags of flowers and chains to a bow on either side, each suspending a natural pearl and followed by identical, but smaller swags leading to a flower, which in turn connects to the rest of the gold chain. The central, main section of the necklace with beautifully modelled flowers and foliage surrounding a large, pink sapphire. The top has a golden bow with a diamond as it''s knot. The bottom suspends a lovely pearl. Hallmarks on the back of the central bow, include the eagle head, used in Paris, France during the 19th century. I tested the gold to confirm it is 18k. A series of faceted amethysts, foil backed to enhance colour and intensity, typical of the Georgian era. Colett set with zig-zag teeth edges. Each stone linked to the next by a few loops, allowing flexibility and movement. Deep golden colour tests for at least 18carat gold. Absolutely stunning when worn. Tongue of clasp is hallmarked - 2 oval marks somewhat worn and a rectangle with ET initials (probably for the maker). Good condition. Antique, Edwardian earrings. Diamonds, sapphires set in 18k gold on silver (typical of the Victorian and slightly later eras). Made first 1/4 20th century. Weigh 7 grams. Excluding the loops, the earrings are 3/4 inch long (18mm). The cabochon sapphires are 5/16th inch (8mm) long. Classic elegance: oval cabochon sapphires set in gold. Surrounded by a delicate openwork fan of diamonds, set in filigree silver. Close inspection shows that each ray of the fan is either one or, alternatively 2 diamonds. Backs of the earrings and loops are gold (test for at least 18k). Beautiful pattern of the gold - almost a waste to be hidden on the backs. Very good condition. Antique, Art Nouveau brooch in the form of a pansy flower. Made of 18k gold, silver, diamonds and enamel with plique a jour border. Circa 1880-1890. Measurements: approx 1 inch accross the top and 1 1/8inch top to bottom. Weighs 10.2grams. Brooch in the form of a Pansy. The upper section and top of the back is all 18k gold and the area set with diamonds is in silver (typical of Victorian jewellery). The upper section is a magnificent deep maroon red colour - quite unique and extremely rare. Moulded details add depth and highlights to the exceptional enamelling. THe bottom two petals have a fine golden-orange/tan-brown enamelled detail surrounded by finely set old cut diamonds. The border is composed of bright blue plique a jour enamel - quite exception in colour. In the center of the flower is a larger diamond, approx 40points in size. Original, secure c-clasp on the back.
