Fantastic Mid-Century Modern Executive desk & corner credenza by the well known fine furniture maker Monteverdi & Young of Beverly Hills, California. This impressive desk is a must have for any high power executive. The desk is very large in size and extremely heavy, it is made of solid wood and accented with a custom made blotter. The desk and credenza are both in excellent condition with a few minor scratches which can be expected for an item of this age. The desk has a few filing drawers which have a lock mechanism and the keys are included. This desk & credenza was purchased around the1960's by Goldman Sachs for a high ranking executive, and has stayed within the family since. The desk alone is valued at $15,000, and the credenza is valued at $4,000. We are offering the desk, custom made blotter and a corner credenza. The buyer will be responsible for shipping or picking up the item near Mendham and Morristown, NJ. We will not ship the item but will help the seller with making any shipping arrangements. George III Chippendale mahogany slant front bureau/bookcase Secretary mounted on ogee bracket feet with straight apron and five drawers below the writing surface with cockbeaded drawer surround and original bat wing backplate and bail design pulls and escutcheons. The interior is outfitted with pigeon holes and shaped front drawers wth knob style brass pulls on either side of a center enclave fronted document drawer. The upper double door section has an inset panel with shaped upper corner center to the outside edge consisting of a flat stop fluted design on a blocked base with a Cornithian capital with a straight molding, band dentil work and archectural broken pediment cornice with dentil banding and centered plinth panel.
