c. 450-350 B.C. A mold made figure of an elderly woman, veiled, wearing a himation. A wheel and a sash to the left of the figure. On integral plinth. Unmolded back with vent hole. Most likely produced in Boeotia. In excellent and original condition. Found in Bethlehem. 7.1 x 3.4 inches (18.03 x 8.64 cms) Worldwide shipping and Certificate of Authenticity included in price. Export Approval from Israel Antiquities Authority. ************ Typical of the terracotta figures produced in the Boeotia region this example was produced with a molded front and an unmolded back. Although extremely similar to the “Tanagra” figurines of the late fourth century onwards certain features such as the inclusion of the accessories in the mold rather than being applied separately, the unmolded back and the style of the plinth suggest that this is a transitional piece which employs many of the traditional features of fifth century terracotta figures.   « Less

Ancient Greek circa 5th century B.C. finely hand made bronze bowl with carinated rim. Some areas of interior and exterior have visible traces of gold gilding. MEASUREMENTS: Diameter: 14 cm (5 1/2 in). Height: 5.7 cm (2 1/4 in). CONDITION: The bowl is in reasonably good condition considering its age, except for one corroded area of the bottom rim and the base, as can be seen in the pictures. Nice patina, showing the age and usage. Some areas of interior and exterior have visible traces of gold gilding. Authentic antique Byzantine bronze pectoral Reliquary Cross, circa 9th-12th century A.D. composed of two separately-cast halves hinged at the base and pinned to a suspension loop above. Finely chiseled in low relief with the Crucifixion on the obverse and the Virgin Orans on the reverse. DIMENSIONS: Height: 5.3 cm (2 1/8 in). Width: 2.5 cm (1 in).
