Antique, Victorian ring, made in the Arts and Crafts era. 14carat gold set with a natural, pale blue zircon gemstone. Made circa 1880 - 1900. US size 8. `Weighs 3.3grams. Ring folds around the finger in a domed circle, culminating at the apex in a simply faceted blue zircon. Colette set gemstone. Surrounded by openwork scrolls and beads in graded sizes, twining around golden foliage in a mixture of naturalistic and symbolic design. Highly pleasing and looks lovely on the finger. Great workmanship. Hallmarked for 14k gold and with a maker''s mark inside the shank. Good condition. Antique, Victorian 18 carat gold ring. Buckle with Memento Mori Memorial, including woven hair. Made in ENgland circa 1880. US size 7 3/4. Weighs 5 grams. Very solid, beautifully made Memento Mori Memorial ring. Thick 18carat gold ring in the form of a belt. The top in the form of a buckle - very realistically modelled, with super-fine chased decoration. Each of the ''loops'' is gold and has a pair of letters that together spell out the word MEMORY. The sections inbetween are very finely woven hair, bordered by gold on either side. The inside of the ring is engraved M.A. Obt 30th July, 1882. The ring is fully hallmarked with Maker''s mark W G M; crown and 18 for 18k gold. Another two marks represent the town (possibly Chester) and the date, which is somewhat worn. Ring is in very good condition. High magnification shows that even the original hair is in fine shape, with no snags or breakages. Antique, Victorian bracelet set with natural rubies. Made circa 1870 - 1905. Measures 60mm (2 3/8inches) accross. Will fit a wrist of approx 7 inches. Mounted in vermeil, beautiful, bright pink natural rubies with an overlapping, scrolling pattern on the sides, leading to a central flower with raised center. Rubies are a great, bright pink colour and good quality natural stones. Very secure, unusual clasp that fits well and has the addition of a safety chain, indicating the perceived value & quality of the item when it was made. Good condition. Antique 14k gold and coral brooch depicting the Gorgon, Medusa. Made circa 1840-80. Measures just under 1 1/2 inches accross widest part. Carved from a wonderful bright orange piece of natural coral. Shaped rectangle, slightly wider on the left than the right hand side. Superb carving depicting the mythological head of the Gorgon Medusa, whose famous gaze was considered protective. Open mouth with sublime detail. Hair consists of a wild array of swirling curls and snakes weaving and twirling between them. The back of the brooch has a 14carat gold pin, which is not in it''s original position (as can be seen from the extra pair of holes), but was fitted during the VIctorian era as well. The top of the ring measures approx 3/8inch (10mm) in diameter. WEighs 7.3 grams. Wonderful setting: an openwork scrolling latticework with filigree borders, delicately set with small rosecut diamonds. From below the shoulders, rises to a cylinder, edged by a perfect cluster circle of rosecut diamonds in flowerform. Hallmarked inside the flank 750 for 18k gold. Good condition. Antique, Victorian / early Edwardian harem ring. Also known as an Antique Thai Princess or nine-gem ring. Made of 14 carat gold, diamonds and rubies. Made circa 1900. US size 7 3/4. Weighs 4.3grams. Wonderful design: simple gold flank with gold openwork on the shoulders with filigree details. Rises in conical form in a complex combination of colette set diamonds and tear-shaped rubies, in symbolic flower form, culminating in a round, colette-set ruby. Very fine; very charming. Old Victorian workmanship cannot be met today. Hallmarked inside the flank with a triangular mark whose significance is unknown to us, as well as engraved 14k. Good, original condition. Antique, VIctorian, Egyptian Revival scarab brooch. 14 carat gold, turquoise and pearls. Circa 1870. Measures about 1 3/8inches accross widest part; 1 1/8 inches top to bottom. Weighs 7.3grams. Archaelogical discoveries in the 19th century had the Victorian population obsessed with Ancient civilisations and their artefacts. This is a Classic Egyptian Revival brooch designed with a pair of sphynxes on either side of a turquoise scarab, under lotus flowers and lieing on a pair of outspread eagle wings. Set with pearls. Filigree and raised details. Wonderful modelling of the faces of the sphynxes, texturing of the lotus flowers and engraving of the scarab. Beautiful quality design and workmanship. Simply beautiful antique pair of drop / dangle earrings - garnets and pearls set in silver. Believed to date to late 19th / early 20th century (Victorian / Edwardian era). Measure 1 3/4 inches long. Made of simply wonderful tiny garnet beads, which we believe to be the rarer hessonite garnet, small round pearls, perfectly matched, and carbuncle, larger pyrope garnet drops. Set in silver, the metal of choice for most Victorian jewellery. Earrings consist of 3 sections, attached to the ear by a simple post. The upper, geometric section with a diamond/square shape, centering around a pearl and ending in overlapping scrolls. A small amount of movement is enabled by the well-fitting loops that link this section to the long, tapering middle - openwork with minute filigree metal and a line of the same matching pearls in the center. A loop connects a beautifully set carbuncle cabochon garnet with the appearance of a bud or fruit, with a large range of motion - swinging freely as the wearer moves. The whole is outlined in gently sparkling garnets with a fiery orange-red glow. Workmanship is outstanding. Hallmarked 925 on the closed back of the cabochon garnet. This mark was used from at least 1860, so it is difficult to date the earrings exactly except by style and quality of workmanship. Very good condition. Very unusual Memorial ring. Made as a co-joined series of bands with various patterns and surface treatment of each. The central band with black enamelled ''IN MEMORY OF''. The inside of the band is engraved: M.A. Davie. Ob Jan18th 1877 At 72. There is also a row of illegible hallmarks - too worn to read. Not just unusual, but particularly attractive, the ring does have some enamel ware, shown highly magnified in the ''photos, but more than compensated for in the fine quality of the workmanship and design.
