Graceful yet sturdy, this candelabra has a stem and arms of wrought iron, the stem with an attractive in-body twist. The base and bobeches are made of patinated steel, decorated with hand hammered accents. The wide base makes this piece sturdy, with good balance, and suitable for decorating a summer table-scape outdoors. The cups can hold taper candles, but they are also the perfect size to hold votive glasses, again useful for outdoor decorating. The underside of the base is marked Goberg. This vintage Arts and Crafts piece will fit well with mission, country, or California revival decor. Unsigned but safely attributed to Peter Ompir is this deep 2'' tray. His horn of plenty studio was at the gates of Old Sturbridge Village a few towns away from us. The plate is from an estate featuring signed Ompir, Peter Hunt and other folk art decorators of the 1940-50''s. Tray is approx 12'' , burnished red with black with a double pear on branch decoration. Super high quality lathe work in coco bolo rosewood. Cylinder base supports wafer turnings, center section is concentric circle fluting to another wafer then compressed ball topped by cylinder. The pair are approx 8 1/2'' tall, rich black, orange and red streaked rosewood. Remnants of candle wax in some of the grooves.
