Stock #: 1014997 Size: 10.5cm Price: AU$ 2,400.00 US$ 2,472.00 € 1,824.00 £ 1,536.00 Very unusual English enamel scent and vinaigrette, the upper a typical South Staffordshire scent of the 1780’s with silver thread and later stopper, painted with panels of figures in landscapes framed by raised gilt rococo scrolls and on a powdered pink ground, the lower foot being a Sterling silver vinaigrette with hallmarks and makers mark. Circa 1790 References: No similar example can be found. It has been suggested that the silver vinaigrette may be a later addition, but close examination of the form of the scent shows that it has never had the usual flattened base, and has been intended to have a separate foot   « Less
