Pair of Double Arm Cameo Glass Sconces
Made for the French market a few years back...we have changed these remarkable cameo cut glass sconces to an American standard. We have removed the French sockets and installed E26, normal size screw-in American sockets. We also retrofitted the backplate to install onto a UL approved electrical box.
The metal frames are solid brass, which showcases some of the most beautiful cut cameo scene shades that we have seen.
Antiques...not quite...but the quality is 10 out of 10.
We installed Normal American sockets, so strong LED light bulbs can be used to show the dramatic glass scenes. We have seen French sconces with wimpy little sockets that simply do not do the fine glass shade artist justice. We will also include the bulbs we think work best.
Measurements:
* Height: 11"
* Width: ~ 11"
* Projection: 7"
This pair of sconces does truly bring ooohs and ahhhs!
All mounting hardware will be supplied.
Price for this pair of simply lovely sconces: $825.00 plus shipping.

American Brass 18 Light Outstanding 1920s Chandelier
Exceptional quality is definitely here. The chandelier dates from circa 1910 to 1930. It is arranged with 12 lights around the periphery, and SIX lights in the center.
This light is simply gorgeous, and gives an ambiance that is hard to find. In addition to the gorgeous frame, the bottom panels have amber mica inserts which adds such a nice warm tone.
Measurements:
* Height: 30" at present, but can be changed to longer to suit the application.
* Width: 35" (measured from outside-bulb to outside-bulb)
We installed decorative round opal bulbs with a 4" diameter called G30, which are readily available from all electrical stores. They are even available in LED form from Feit as a G25 dimmable LED bulb, if so inclined. In the center are six medium based sockets. Three sockets light the interior reticulated panel, while three are dedicated to the outside bottom rim. We chose the G30 bulb with a nice opal finish for the outside rim, which outputs 40 watts each. There are bulbs with higher wattages, but we thought 12 bulbs yielding 480 watts of lighting might be best for most applications. Then, with the addition of the six inside bulbs with their indirect lighting, this total can be scaled upwards.
Showing a proper picture of a bare bulb fixture is difficult against a white background. The light bulbs simply disappear. We wanted to show that this light suits any color scheme you might choose, so we chose multiple colored backgrounds to display this fine light. Hopefully, one of the backgrounds will come somewhat close to your eventual color scheme for an idea of contrast ability.
This fixture has been totally re-wired in our UL shop, and will have the UL label as such. New sockets and wire were installed. This simply gorgeous chandelier is true, fine, American craftsmanship. It is complete, and comes with all the mounting hardware. Ready for installation.
Price: $3,850.00 plus careful crate packing and freight shipping.
Freight costs will be calculated and invoiced separately after purchase. If you would like a freight quote before purchase, please contact us...we would be happy to provide one!

Pair of Double Arm Wall Sconces Circa 1910-20
Lovely pair of circa 1920 wall sconces. Original antique backplates, and original antique shades. These sconces have a formal Edwardian ambiance with a pewter look, but a more restrained backplate design that is so typical of the Edwardian design style. Almost reminds you of an Art Nouveau...but not quite.
The metal of the backplates is cast iron, which has a lovely pewter finish.
Measurements:
* Height: 10 ½"
* Width: 10 ½" (maximum)
* Projection: 4 ¾" from the wall into the room.
These sconces have been completely rewired in our UL shop with true bakelite sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the switches, which were originally made by Leviton in the 20s, and still made up to three years ago. So these Leviton switches are becoming even more antique as we note this.
Ready to go...nothing needs to be done, except add the light bulbs of your choice.

Circa 1850 Rod Hung Gasolier Attributed to Cornelius, Baker Company
Chandeliers with figures were popular during the 1850s. Called Allegorical Chandeliers, they were very much en vogue during this time.
Chandeliers that are this early usually have had changes made to them for many reasons...i.e. conversion from gas to electricity, style changes, shades break, homes are re-located...
What used to be 2 5â„8" fitters for the shades has been changed over to the ubiquitous 1890 4" fitter shade type. And the gas keys have been modified to prevent them from cutting the electrical wire that now passes through the original gas pipe. Peter Myers' book "Gaslighting in America" also shows a rod hung chandelier with changes similar to this chandelier...page 85...illustration from the Smithsonian Institution. Other than the two main changes, we have a rather attractive four arm rod hung antique gasolier by one of the most famous makers of gasoliers for the early American gas age: Cornelius.
The main giveaway is the gas key. Gas keys of this age were like signatures, and chandeliers that were never signed can often be identified by their gas key designs. The gas key on this gasolier is the same as the pictures from the Smithsonian.
Now, after re-wiring in our UL shop, this gasolier (chandelier) is ready to be reinstalled into someone's nice Victorian home.
Measurements:
* Diameter: 29"
* Height: 49"; definitely made to hang in the taller ceilings from the Victorian era.
$4,950.00 for this authentic, re-wired, UL approved Cornelius, Baker Company gasolier now converted to electricity...plus freight shipping costs.

Pair of Polychrome Turn of the Century Wall Sconces with Ruby Tipped Amber Shades
What a nice turn-of-the-century pair of sconces these are! Original polychrome colors in VERY good condition. We hope the pictures do these sconces justice since they are in remarkable condition.
Those original antique shades are simply works of art by themselves. The shades were pressed into a mold for the pattern, then the ruby-tipped edges were applied. The combination of amber and ruby glass is very attractive.
Measurements:
* Height: 10 ¾"
* Width: 4 ¾"
* Projection: 6" from the wall into the room.
These sconces have been completely rewired in our UL shop with new sockets to conform to UL guidelines. The sconce backplates have a switch installed at the center which was renewed when the sconces were rewired. Each socket is capable of accepting a 100 watt bulb...but...due to the shade height...bulbs need to be chosen carefully. We used low profile LED bulbs, and we will give them to you since they fit the fixture so wonderfully. This bulb gives a great output for ambiant sconces.
These sconces are ready to go, and will be supplied with all the necessary mounting hardware.
Complete, UL Rewired Pair of Poly-Chrome Sconces: $495.00 supplied with our LED bulbs...plus careful shipping.

Monumental Pair of Solid Cast BRONZE Gothic Ceiling or Entry Lights
Simply magnificent in their style, size, and workmanship. They are stunning to behold. Circa 1910.
We were fortunate that someone was thoughtful enough to have put these treasures into storage. Being CAST bronze, with acrylic window replacements, they are not lightweights. Better figure about 250 pounds of holding power for installation. We used our 150kg chandelier lift for the pictures, and we would surely recommend one for a permanent installation. A strong crossbar will be supplied for mounting.
Having been in storage for years and years, these fantastic lights were an undertaking in restoration and re-wiring. They have been completely re-wired in our UL shop with a new idea in lighting. The clusters of old fashioned, inefficient 1900s sockets were removed, and a carousel of SIX LED tubes was installed for an even 360° representation of lighting. One tube lights each window evenly, instead of visible hot spots that occur with regular light bulbs. Each LED tube is 4 feet long. We have shown 3 views of this LED carousel in one picture. Each 4-foot tube consumes only 23 watts of power, and has an output of 2100 lumens of light. Side note: Also complies with California Title 24 energy saving requirements.
These LED tubes can be accessed from the bottom acrylic panel, which is in two parts for separation and access. The LED tubes are powered from only one end, as is the new UL requirements for LED tubes...and that power is taken off the top of the carousel, as shown in one of the photographs. A picture of the bottom is also shown, both with and without the acrylic inset so the carousel can be seen, and also how it will be hidden during use.
Yes, the LED tubes are supplied with the light, so a turn-key solution is in hand.
Measurements: The overall height (as shown) is 106" (8' 10"). However...it could be lengthened by us supplying more tube (might be required in a commercial application)...OR...it could be reduced by shortening the hex tube to result in an overall height of as little as 72" (6 ft), since the lantern part by itself measures 67" tall, and we need about an additional 5" for the canopy and wiring access. The maximum lantern width is 27". The canopy measures 15" at the maximum width, and has a 4 ½" height. The canopy looks smaller in the photographs...but compared to the lantern...it just looks smaller.
Price for the PAIR: $9,350.00 plus careful packing and shipping. If someone went out to have these made, you would probably would pay at least triple this price...and here...these are even antiques.
Freight Shipping is extra, and must be calculated for destination.

Lovely Pair of Circa 1920 Wall Sconces
Pair of regal bearing wall sconces, with a crown design at the top, and hammered backplates. Nicer still that these are DOUBLE arm wall sconces, with nice original shades...which is getting a bit harder to find complete. Everyone seems to change them to candle sconces for ease of production, since usually one or more shades have disappeared.
Some mixed metals are being used here, but all with a pewter High/Low finish which is very attractive.
The antique shades are very nice, with an off-white background and yellow and gold designs. Some minimum design fading as expected with old shades, but nothing terribly significant.
Measurements:
* Height: 9 ¼"
* Width: 9 ½" (maximum, including the shade)
* Projection: 5 ¾" from the wall into the room.
These sconces have been completely rewired in our UL shop with new sockets and all new original twisty rayon wire (visible in the pictures). We have also replaced the switches, made by Leviton in the 20s...and still made up to ONE year ago. So these Leviton switches are becoming even more antique as we note this.

Lovely Pair of Circa 1930s Wall Sconces
Original antique backplates, and original antique shades.
These sconces have a formal Edwardian ambiance, and have a pewter look that is so typical of the Edwardian design style.
The original antique shades are simple, with a typical cream coloring below that transitions to a band of embossed clear glass at the top and bottom.
The metal of the backplates is cast zinc and aluminum with a lovely pewter finish.
Measurements:
* Height: 11 ¼"
* Width: 5 ½" maximum, including the shade. Backplate width is 4 ¾".
* Projection: 6 ¼" from the wall into the room.
Ready to go...nothing needs to be done, except add the light bulbs of your choice. These sconces have been completely re-wired with new sockets and all new wire. Can use any standard light bulb...but...we like to suggest using size G45 light bulbs. We suggest this size because it is low profile, which will help prevent a bulb from peeking over the rim of the shade. Just a final, nicer, touch.
