Pair of wrought iron chandeliers from turn-of-the-century...Circa 1920 or so. Hard to date accurately, but the quality and the original cloth wiring helped us. Heavy and well made!
We have restored the sockets and wiring completely in our UL shop, and they are ready to hang.
The glass shades are all unique. This is because they are hand-blown and free-blown, which means in the air...but not into a die. So every single shade is hand done and a bit different. All the glass is in near-mint condition, and each has a beautiful crackle glass surface. They add a rustic and unique accent to these fixtures.
The cast lion face masks between each shade are rather striking, and do pose a certain attitude. All rather Medieval Gothic. I like how the area below the shade is bulbous, which imitates an oil lamp reservoir, but of course only functions as a design characteristic now.
Measurements:
Height: 28", but can be adjusted by adding chain links, or an additional rod supsension for a slight additional cost.
Diameter: 25"
All mounting hardware will be supplied.
Price for the complete pair of Gothic chandeliers with shades: $3,080.00 plus Freight Shipping.
Freight shipping is quoted and invoiced separately after purchase. If you would like a quote before purchase, please contact us...we would be happy to provide one! « Less

Matched pair of Turn-of-the-Century, three light, ceiling chandeliers. This design can fit into so many different decorative schemes...Arts and Crafts...or Gothic...or '20s...or even Deco.
Cast iron fixtures with their original red bronze finish. The finish does show its age a bit after 90 odd years, but like an oriental carpet, very pleasing to folks who appreciate this great antique look.
All matched amber shades in remarkable condition. Nice embossed pattern and color.
Totally rewired to UL standards with new sockets and wire in our UL shop. They are now ready to be installed. These lower ceiling chandeliers easily install with the center finial to a standard crossbar and electrical box. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
Measurements:
Diameter: 10 ¼" overall.
Height: 7 ½" from the ceiling to the bottom of the shades.
$742.50 for the matched pair of UL re-wired fixtures, complete with matched shades...plus $50.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

How cute this light is!! Lovely graceful sweeping lines with a lovely classical motif makes it a very pleasant fixture indeed. Circa 1910 - 1930.
Riddle was known for their exact and beautiful castings. The detail on this fixture is really quite exquisite. Nice contrasting too, with a high-low finish.
Electrical: This pendant has been totally re-wired in our UL shop. We even used Rayon covered wire for authenticity. Normal candelabrum sockets, for everyday candelabrum base bulbs, have been installed. We are showing this pendant with small 1.6 watt LED bulbs, but much more light can be achieved with the substitution of higher wattage bulbs. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
Measurements:
Height: 21"
Width: 8 ¼"
For the complete, re-wired pendent with candle drip shades, $874.50 plus $25.00 for careful shipping within the contiguous 48 states WITH the shades shown.

Original older PAIR of chandeliers with an original antique BRASS hi/lo finish. We believe the original maker was French since it had European sockets in them when obtained. We changed to American standard medium base sockets to use our normal bulbs.
The contrast of the BRASS body is quite striking. These chandeliers have a rich formality, and yet just have so much good detail.
As mentioned, these chandeliers have been completely re-wired in our UL shop. A UL mounting kit will be supplied for our standard electrical boxes.
Measurements:
Diameter: 9"
Height: 21" tall, but can be modified if desired. Please contact us for pricing.

Original older chandelier with an original antique BRASS hi/lo finish. We believe the original maker was French since it had a European socket in the chandelier when we acquired it.
The contrast of the BRASS body is quite striking. This chandelier has a rich formality, and yet just has so much good detail.
The chandelier has been completely re-wired in our UL shop. We installed a mogul based porcelain socket which takes the large bulbs. We did this so we could use our round induction bulb 40W-E39-01. It uses only 40 watts, but produces the equivalent of over 200 watts of incandescent lighting power. Of course, you could just replace this induction bulb with a mogul based incandescent bulb or use an adapter...which we can supply...to reduce it to a medium base socket for all other bulbs. We will give you the existing induction bulb with the purchase of the fixture. Many bulb options to choose from here. In addition...a UL mounting kit will be supplied for our standard electrical boxes.
Measurements:
Diameter: 12"
Height: 23" tall, but can be modified if desired. (Please contact us for pricing.)

Original antique backplates and original antique shades. These sconces have a formal Edwardian ambiance, and have a pewter look that is so typical of the Edwardian design style.
The original antique shades are simple, with a typical custard coloring below, converting to a band of clear glass at the top.
The metal of the backplates is cast zinc and aluminum with a lovely pewter finish.
These sconces have been completely re-wired with true bakelite sockets (regular household size medium base) and all new wire. We have also replaced the switches, made by Leviton in the '20s...and still made up to two years ago. So these switches, by Leviton, are becoming more antique as we note this.
Measurements:
Height: 10 ¼"
Width: 4 ¾" for the backplate; 3" for the shade.
Projection: 6" from the wall into the room.
$385.00 for the complete pair...plus $25.00 for Ground Shipping to addresses within the contiguous 48 states.

Original Antique Cast Composition Plaster Edwardian Ceiling Bowl Light Fixtures

Original Antique Cast Composition Plaster Edwardian Ceiling Bowl Light Fixtures
At the turn of the century, there was a continued serious move to design fancier and fancier theaters, restaurants, and financial institutions. A fast method to mimic classical Greek and Roman carved marble magnificence was fine plaster work. Workers were often imported from Europe for their skilled working with molds and structures that graced historical buildings there. This was a true artistic craft that has since been mostly lost. During its heyday, though, American workers also learned these skills and produced some equally fantastic items all on their own.
Even today, as companies of conscience restore the plaster work in historical buildings, we marvel at the beauty and wonderful effect of a simple moldable material that can achieve such beauty when manipulated by a skilled craftsperson.
During this time, lovely cast industrial plaster chandeliers were also produced to match the like columns and friezes that adorned elaborate interiors. This group of ANT-504 are such fixtures. Naturally, being made the way they were, most did not survive the misguided modernization process...being dropped from the ceilings and destroyed on impact...or they were simply scrapped as old fashion. A shame really...but so antiques and our history goes.
Fortunately, we have EIGHT of these matching chandeliers from an estate in New Rochelle, New York. (Update: SOLD OUT)
While they do show their age with slight bumps and bruises, they are still very unique antiques that deserve to be re-installed in historic buildings for a great indirect lighting affect.
We have restored them to their original antique-gold finish. This is NOT the garish European gold, but the original American finish, which had a bit of black and red there-in. It is a muted affect that is original. And yes, our mold maker (who makes our plaster medallions), did make some structural improvements on a case-by-case basis. They look good.
Measurements:
Diameter: Slightly over 24"
Height: 38" from the ceiling to the bottom of the finial. Hang height can be adjusted to various lengths for your project. Please contact us for pricing.
These are NOT lightweight chandeliers. These chandeliers were used in manor homes, commercial buildings, and theaters, as well as other places where strong INDIRECT light was desired, instead of light bulbs glaring down at you.
The image inside the bowl shows 6 medium base, normal E26 sockets on 3/8nps pipe...all of which...are original. We have only changed the final porcelain socket face to make them UL approved and safe after all these years. Of course they have all been re-wired in our UL shop.
You note the undersize bulbs in place. For pictures only. We estimate that each socket could contain a 300 watt bulb, or even a touch larger. With new LED technology, large corn bulbs could also be used to great affect. For California, we could wire for GU-10 or G24 bulbs to comply with Title 24. Just needs a bit of thought.
We have completed two out of the eight bowls we have, and the remainder could be finished in 10 days if multiples are desired.
ANT-504 Antique Chandelier: $984.50 each complete as shown, plus freight shipping charges. If multiples are purchased, pallet shipping is best due to the weight. Designed to be connected directly to a UL approved electrical box that can hold weight. No plastic types.
Freight Shipping will be calculated and invoiced separately after purchase. If you would like a shipping quote before purchase, please contact us...we would be happy to provide one! « Less

Inside the dome there are two staggered rows of 8 candelabrum sockets, making a total of 16 sockets for a substantial lighting affect. Putting just a 40 watt bulb in each would give out a whopping 320 watts of output of incandescent lighting.

Pair of Outstanding Solid Brass and Bronze Gothic Dragon Sconces
Solid brass/bronze griffins with spread wings, holding a pair of rather nice crackle glass shades from about the 1920s.
When received, they had European sockets in them, so the origin is a bit of a mystery. We would guess either German or French by the type of casting and electrical wiring. Wherever they are from, they are simply outstanding.
Measurements:
Height: 22" overall, measured from the top of the backplate to the bottom of the shade.
Width: 11 ½" (wing spread)
Projection: 11" from the wall into the room.
We have totally re-wired these sconces in our UL shop with American medium base sockets and new supply wire. They do not, and never did, have switches, since that is not necessarily a European custom.
We changed the mounting, as well. It now mounts to a standard American electrical box (with the button shown above the dragon's back) to a standard American crossbar, which will be supplied
$1,375.00 for this great pair of dragon sconces with original amber crackle glass shades...plus $25.00 for Ground Shipping to addresses within the contiguous 48 states.
