Southeastern Italy, Greek colony of Canosa, Ca 325 BC. Partially hollow moulded, and most likely off a large vessel, pottery statuette of the Goddess of Victory, wings outspread, she holds a dove in one hand and pomegranate in the other. Decorated in original white and pink pigments. 3"W x 7"T, wings reattached and repaired, minor restorations, else quite nice. Custom mount.

From southern Italy, Apulia, ca. 4th century BC. Black-glazed pottery jug done in red-figure, with concave neck pinched to form a broad shallow frontal lobe and two small side-lobes (creating a trefoil, allowing liquid to be poured in any of three directions); front features the profile head of a Lady of Fashion wearing white, pearl-like earrings, her hair dressed in a kekryphalos with a radiate stephane. 4-1/8"H (10.5 cm), repair to lip, minor rim chips, minor glaze loss, as shown. A really sweet piece!

Ca. 350 B.C., from the ancient Greek colony of Apulia, in southern Italy. Terracotta lidded pottery vessel with footed base, dome-shaped lid and knob handle. Lid painted in red-figure style with series of two Lady of Fashion in profile and two palmette panels. The Lekanis was used in antiquity to store soaps and scented perfumes. 4-3/8"H x 3-5/8"W at widest, intact/generally excellent, save glaze loss to base, as shown.
