This is a wonderful pair of antique cast bronze Aesthetic Movement exterior door plates, dating from the 1880 s. Each plate features an abstract floral and foliate design, with florets around the furl and the first keyhole. The second keyhole is surrounded by a circular design featuring a scalloped border. These Eastlake back plates are in excellent condition. Please note that one plate has a swinging keyhole cover, and the other does not. Each plate measures 2 wide and 7 tall. This is a fabulous pair of antique Georgian exterior door plates, dating from the late 1800’s. Made of cast brass, the plates are each crowned with an anthemion surrounded by volutes, with beautifully cast acanthus leaves curling around the volutes from the sides. Each plate features a convex oval panel in the center, which frames the furl and a larger opening for a lock cylinder. The bottom of the plate is finished in foliate detail and volutes springing from a fluted urn. These back plates are in excellent condition, with some minor paint splatters. Please note that the furls of the plates vary from each other (pictured). Each plate measures 2 ¾†wide and 10 ¾†tall.

This is a splendid antique cast iron door knob set with its matching plates and mortise lock, from the Aesthetic Movement, c. 1890. Each knob features concentric beaded circles in the center, followed by an elaborate, stylized foliate design. The plates feature a matching design. This is an amazing set of eight matching antique Aesthetic Movement pocket door plates, cast bronze, dating from the 1880’s. The plates are intricately detailed with a lattice background. The recessed area of each plate echoes the shape of the keyhole; the keyhole is in the circular section, which is bordered by an egg-and-dart pattern. Each plate has the patent date on the back: “Pat’d Mar. 18. 1884 & Apl. 22.†They are in excellent condition, and measure 2 ¼†wide, 5 ¾†tall, and ½†deep. Four of the plates have keyholes; the other four were modified in the past for very small bronze knobs, and each has a small circular opening (see pictures). This is an amazing set of antique Georgian gilded door plates with matching handles, dating from the 18th or 19th Century. These came from Sam Fleming’s mansion, Boxwood, in Nashville; they were originally from Europe. This superbly cast gilt set features an intricate design, beginning at the top with a pineapple, which symbolizes hospitality, followed by an elaborate design of leaves and berries, which crisscross the plate. The opening for the handle is surrounded by foliate detail and a beautiful torsade pattern. Each handle features a beautifully cast lily, followed by leaves and berries; the end of each handle is wrapped in an acanthus leaf. This set is in excellent condition. Each plate measures 2 ¼†wide and 12 ½†long, and the handles are 4 1/8†long. « Less

A Set of Six English Armorial Plates Lovett family, Possibly Coalport, Circa 1810-20 The plates were made for the Lovett family. ;They are in a style originally made in 1735-40 in Chinese Export Porcelain with an octagonal silver form , the central well with famille rose depictions of exotic birds and rockwork and the coat of arms and crest on the border. ;The coat of arms are Argent three wolves passant in pale sable while the crest is A wolf passant proper. David Howard in his book, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, page 340, mentions that there have been two replacements for this service, this set made in the early 19th century (without motto) possibly at Coalport and others marked Copeland.
