Crysanthe, Lunveville, and anchor impressed on reverse.Plate dates to mid 1850-1875. The French oyster plates were actually for holding Coquilles, or scallops as opposed to oysters.
A truly elegant French faience or majolica plate rarely seen in this form and exceptional condition. A must have for the collector of fine French majolica or faience. A fine plate which displays beautifully.

Condition: The 250 year old box has had several interesting restorations which appear professional in its history. There are glazed areas, filled hairlines, and stablized chacks. Obviously much loved and valued.
