Good French sterling silver tea set comprised of tea pot, lidded sugar and cream made by Cesar Blondeau, Parisian silversmith active in 1899. The ovoid bodies of these pieces are decorated with large pearl borders, very appealing. The handles are decorated with chased foliate motifs, and the top knops are a charming confection of both the large pearls and the foliate elements. The lidded sugar is gold lined. The tray included with the tea set is made by Lapparra and Gabriel and is silver plate, not sterling. It has a matching pearl border and absolutely exquisite chased acanthus handles. The pieces are not monogrammed and a nice hefty weight. the combined weight of the three sterling pieces is 1325 grams! A very decorative set at a very appealing price. Buy it now and have it in time for Christmas! Condition is good. Light signs of use on the tray. The tea pot top knop has a repair, nearly invisible and professionally done. The cream has mild deformation at the neck, again, hard to see but to be noted. Also the cream wobbles a bit. Please see photos for dimensions and marks.   « Less

Fine boxed set of ice cream servers by Henri Gabert. The service ends are beautifully engraved with a floral foliate design strewn with birds and butterflies. The handles boast an exquisite intricate design. Condition is very good to excellent. The set comes in the original fitted box, also in fine condition. Dimensions: Spoon is 8 7/8"" long, 3" at the widest and weighs 70 grams. The other server is 10" long, 2 7/8" at the widest and weighs 60 grams. The box is 11" long, 4.75" wide and 1 5/8" high. From renowned French master smith Doutre-Roussel, active in Paris 1895, the finest .950 sterling silver crumb tray and brush set I have offered. The formed tray decorated with cross ribbon edges, lattices with twining tendrils, floral and foliate bouquets and a hefty handle with shell accents. The brush almost Art Nouveau with rich floral foliate repousse decoration, a graceful sinuous shape, with bell flower and shell accents. The condition of all is very good. usual signs of use. So very pleased to offer you this set of 11 knife rests bearing the revered name of Froment Meurice. And what a lovey set of knife rests this is! Exquisite mascarons of a woman's head with elaborate halo and bib. These rests have three connecting bars; all the other sets I have are connected with just one bar. The result is a fairly hefty 45 gram weight each. Condition is good. There are chiefly light signs of use and age comprised of some roughness to the surfaces. Some very slight deformation of some of the connecting bars. Each rest bears the tete sanglier .800 silver guarantee and the name "Froment Meurice" across one of the bars. I cannot find the lozenge shaped maker's mark. These pieces may have been retailed by Maison Froment Meurice inasmuch as I have been unable to find the maker's punch.   « Less

Rare and very collectible, Tiffany's Japanese pattern was created in 1871. On the handle is a delicately patterned ground decorated further with a humming bird amidst lovely long and sinuous stemmed flowers. The underside of the ladle handle is decorated with floral and foliate motifs surrounding an area for the placement of a monogram. This ladle has no monogram, and it boasts the rare and more desirable rectangular bowl. The bowl has a pie crust rim. This pattern truly exemplifies the aesthetic movement: the styling bearing the motifs of art nouveau in a stylized fashion clearly approaching art deco. Absolutely pristine condition! The only evidence of age is some very minor surface wear to the bowl. A great addition to a collection! This ladle comes from from the private stock of a Philadelphia collector of 40 years, from whom I am occasionally able to coax a piece or two. Dimensions: the ladle is 12.5" long, the bowl is 4.25" wide, 3" long and 1.25 deep. The ladle handle is 1.25" wide. Weight is 8 ounces. Marks: on the back stem: Tiffany & Co, STERLING and Pat 1871. There is another mark that I cannot make out; presumably a year mark.   « Less

This rather large asparagus serving piece is highly ornate! A lush Louis XV piece with elaborate and rich detail, Rococo indeed. The handle is sterling silver, with deep relief repousse rocaille, scrolling acanthus, floral and foliate motifs, meticulously hand chased. The service end is not silver: it is gilt and silvered metal etched with a profusion of decorative elements; quite a handsome serving piece! It bears the Minerve 1st titre on the handle, along with a partially rubbed maker's mark. The poincon has a clear "& Cie"; I believe it the be by Henin, but I cannot guarantee that. We are so excited to offer you this exceptional and RARE flatware set of 24 pieces. Made by Paul Tallois, 1907-1928; this dinner service comprised of 4 piece place settings for 6: a fish fork and fish knife, a dessert fork and spoon. The opulence of the decoration is truly sublime. The fish set is magnificently engraved and chased with dolphins and fishes on the business ends of the pieces. All of the handles are decorated with rocailles, trellises, floral and foliate elements. Each piece has such a brilliant shine, photographing the service presented unusual challenges; I've done my best. Suffice it to say, in person this set exceeds expectations. There is a monogram on these pieces: the letters "MB". Condition is pristine. Lightest to no signs of use, no flaws. Total weight for the set is 1350 grams. Dimensions: Fish forks: 7 3/8" long, weight 60 grams Fish knives: 8.75" long, weight 55 grams Dessert forks: 7 1/8" long, weight 55 grams Dessert spoons: 7.25" long, 55 grams.
