This is a charming pair of ca 1920’s double-arm sconces in their original vibrant polychrome finish. They have custard colored background with lovely pink, blue and green accents. The back plates have a rectangular form with twist-rope border, intricately cast urn for a top finial adorned by florets, and urn bottom finial with foliate detail. The sconce arms spring below the back plates to support leafy bobeches. The wall lamps are in excellent condition. They have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia sake; however, we would gladly replace them with new ones if so desired. They are 10” long, 9 ¾” wide, and protrude 3 ¾” from the wall.   « Less

These are twelve matching, superbly cast, single-arm iron sconces dating to the 1920’s or 1930’s in original, near mint, polychrome finish. These delightful sconces feature octagonal back plates with twisted rope border and smooth inner ring. A single arrow pierces each center ring, goes through a border or foliates and scrolls and touches the twisted rope. The sconces are crowned with large stylized anthemion finials. Simple, S-curved, iron arms spring from the lower portion of the backs and hold tulip shaped bobeches. They are signed by their maker, the Moe-Bridges Company. The wall lamps are in excellent condition. They have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. These two matching pairs of ca 1920's classic Lincoln Co. iron sconces display exemplary casting, a natural patina, and a chocolate brown color. The upper part of the ornate back plate showcases a loop-style cut-out, which is bordered in decorative beads. Above the loop is a cast posy-style floret surrounded by foliage, which runs down either side. The uniquely shaped back plate is raised in the center, displaying a utilitarian floret button and lined by corresponding foliate details. The body of the back plate displays faux-hammering, cast curls and florets, and finishes in a bottom cut-out styled loop also beaded. Each of the two sconce arms is made of bent and curled iron bands, which display earth-tone finishes and are buttoned to the back plate with florets. The end of each arm supports a petal-cup bobeche, making these the most endearing sconces. These wall lamps are in excellent condition. They have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctional antique turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we would gladly replace them with new ones if so desired. Made of splendidly aged brass, these early 1900’s, single arm sconces begin with a baluster-style top finial, which features an impressive upper loop. The circular back plate rests above the U-curved sconce arm, which rises to meet the bobeche. Two pieces in construction, these bobeches feature a modest bottom portion, which balances the beautifully cut-out, cornet-style top portion. These wall lamps are in excellent condition. These superb Neoclassical style sconces are cast pewter with fantastic silver plating. With a mantle-style body showing a leafy banding, these sconces display a treillage design about the center portion, which highlights the ornately cast flower urn midpoint. The corbel-style sconce arms support two-piece and ornately decorated bobeches. These dazzling sconces reflect traditional Neoclassical adornments throughout including acanthus, helixes, and lovely palmettes. Due to extraordinary patina, each of these sconces is slightly different in hue, which only accentuates their uniqueness (please see photos). These wall lamps are in excellent condition. NSP229 This enticing pair of single-arm brass sconces is stunning and is c. 1910. Featuring a shield- shaped back plate, these sconces begin with an immense fire urn, which provides an impressive top finial. Setting just below the urn and curling on either side, one finds elegant draping cast into the back plate. The bottom of the back plate finishes with a stylized rectangular sunburst. Growing out of the bottom of the back plate, a U- curved sconce arm sprouts up to meet an ornately cast, and floret adorned wax-pan and modestly designed candle-cup. These two matching pairs of 1920’s double-arm iron sconces are divine. Expertly cast, each sconce begins with a large loop-style pinnacle comprised of addorsed honeysuckle blossoms. Bordering the back plate on either side, one finds beautifully cast, knotted, and swaying drapery, which can be followed to the center of the back plate in a curl. Draped across these sconces are ornate rope adornments, delightful floret details, and an encompassing lattice texture. The dual arms reach out on either side of the sconce’s body to meet acanthus ornamented platforms, which support cut-out style bobeches. These gorgeous sconces finish with a grape-bunch bottom finial. The wall lamps are in excellent condition. They have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation.
