This early KUTANI bowl is an exceptionally fine and highly detailed work of art. Painted in "Rouge De Fer" with gilt accents the bowl has strong KUTANI details with well executed figurals and landscape views in the cavettos. The porcelain body has a fine small krackle finish on a grayed body presenting a total Japanese feel yet the coloration will blend with your Chinese Imari or Rouge De Fer as well. The enamels are particularly well executed in the interior as well as the exterior. Indeed, a special signed Kutani porcelain. Dimensions: Diameter 7 1/2"(19cm) Height 3 1/2"(9cm) Condition: Very good. There is a small area in the under glaze on exterior which was possibly rubbed prior to firing. there are a few pin head pits in the glaze. This is typical in works of this age.   « Less

KANGXI 18th Century,Chinese (circa 1720-1740) blue and white CHINESE CHARGER or deep plate of superior caliber. Charger is 16" in diameter deep cobalt blue on fine thickly potted porcelain ground with elegant assorted florals, a bird and a butterfly, all enclosed within a cross hatch and floral cavetto detailed border. The exterior of the plate bears a scrolling vine. Exceptional size a truly stellar find. This plate is guaranteed to be of the period. Dimensions: Diameter 16"(40.50cm) Depth: 4"(110cm) Condition: Excellent. Some sand pitting in the lower central plate with a few glaze flaws (see photos). Some small rim frits. Very unusual Japanese fine and early pottery vase. Massive heavy in the manner of a tree with cherry blossoms. I can not estimate age, but this is probably early 18th century. There is damage to some of the petals as shown, but the quality and workmanship make the damage almost unnoticible. A most unusual and rare vase. Fine Italian Florentine faience pilgrim flask or bottle. Not sure if it is Cantagalli, but definitely early 19th century, possibly earlier. Signed as shown on base; a stunning example of Italian Florentine faienza. Snake handles, grotesques, lots of hand painted detail here. Retains original cork seal.
