Cast 1920-30 Art Deco sconces signed “Riddle Made in USA†with an interesting shell shaped “step†slip-in shade.
The finish is pewter with high/lo accents. Riddle is “known†for exceptional decorative castings. As we look at these backplates with their myriad of lovely scrolls and decor, we can heartily agree.
The shades are secured with set screws and there is a horseshoe style seg at the back which notches into the shade with the back set screw. An interesting adaptation.
Electrical: These sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Normal bakelite sockets for everyday medium base bulbs was installed. The backplate has a rotary switch for on and off. The sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
Measurements: Overall height is 13 3/4†from the top of the shade to the bottom of the metal backplate. Overall widest part is the shade which is 5 1/2†wide. Projects into the room 5â€. The measurements of the backplate only is 9 1/4†tall by 4 1/4†at it’s widest point.
Price: $350.00 for the pair plus $20.00 for careful packing and ground shipping within the contiguous 48 states. Residents of Alaska/Hawaii and International Customers, please call 360-379-9030 for a shipping quote. « Less

Cast 1939 Art Deco sconces signed that are in the Virden catalog #39 (i.e. 1939 as the catalog number reflected the year it was published). These sconces were item 6001 from the Carleton Series and Virden bragged: “Underwriters Approvedâ€.
The finish is pewter while the shades have that typical streamline concentric rings which are so very iconic streamline design.
Please note the original casting blemish on the one sconce. Shown plainly in the pictures. It is original and was originally sold that way. Interesting that they let it out of the factory this way but America was still in the height of the depression, at that time, and everyone thought THREE times before eliminating anything in those difficult days.

Nice pair of Circa 1920 wall sconces. Original “hammered effect†pewter finished sconces with crackle ground and floral shades.
These sconces have a lovely Edwardian pewter look and a great design that is so typical of the Edwardian Arts & Crafts style.
The original antique shades are also so very nice. They have a clear ban at the top with a floral motif and a crackle color below the ban. Very attractive.
The metal of the backplates, is cast metal with a lovely pewter finish. Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice. We would recommend our LED candelabrum bulbs, 35C-E26 if you wish ambient light rather than full room power. The ambiance of these bulbs is warm and they draw so little electricity (1.6 watts) that we have known folks who leave them on 24/7. The bulbs do have an expected life of 25,000 - 30,000 hours.
These sconces have been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the rotary switches, made by Leviton in the 20’s...and were still made up to ONE year ago. So these switches by Leviton are becoming even more antique as we note this.
Measurements: The overall sconce height is 11â€. The maximum width (shade) is 5 1/2â€. It will project into the room, from the wall 7 1/2â€. The backplate, by itself, measures 11†tall by 4â€.
Price for the complete pair: $350.00 plus $20.00 for careful packing and ground shipping within the contiguous 48 states. Residents of Alaska/Hawaii and International Customers, please call 360-379-9030 for a shipping quote. « Less

This wonderful and uncommon copper-bronze finish chandelier has a very striking presentation. It is lovely and very 30's. This five light chandelier has been re-wired with new sockets...each capable of a 100 watt standard bulb.
It was made during the 1930’s and it has all matching shades that are an amber with clear floral panels. The shades are in excellent condition without chips or cracks ...only minor roughness where they go in and out of the fitter...but not seen when mounted and very minor in any case. And..they all match.
Many Art Deco lighting dealers are charging $250 to $300 EACH for these shades. If you wish to consider value, just do the multiple of five...compare to our price for the entire re-wired chandelier and find true reasonability.
Measurements: 23 inches in overall height, with a diameter of 14†inches from shade tip to shade tip.
This chandelier has been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets and all new wire. It is completely tested and ready to hang...just add bulbs. We will also include a new mounting kit to make sure that you can hang this lovely accent as soon as it is received.
Price for the complete chandelier as shown: $1,250.00 plus $50.00 for careful packing and ground shipping within the contiguous 48 states. Residents of Alaska/Hawaii and International Customers, please call 360-379-9030 for a shipping quote. « Less

Set of FOUR sconces with lovely poly-chrome original coloring. Circa 1920's, the frames were cast and artists hand painted the remarkable variation of old gold and white poly-chrome colors. Really quite attractive and striking.
The shades are in great condition with only a couple of minor chips where they go into the fitter...not seen after installation. The shade has two distinct areas...there is the yellowish crackled ground and then the clear band on floral decor. Then the same yellowish ground is repeated at the very top rim. A very nice appealing combination.
Electrical: These sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Normal sockets, for everyday medium base bulbs, were installed in each sconce. The sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied. There is no switch on each sconce, but they could be added for a small additional cost.
Measurements: 9 7/8†tall by 5 5/8†wide and projects into the room from the wall 6 3/4â€. The backplate measures 4†at the widest point x 9 7/8†tall.
A real value is to find a matching set of 4 sconces in this remarkable condition.
Price for complete set of four: $795.00 as shown, plus $30.00 for ground shipping within the contiguous 48 states. Residents of Alaska/Hawaii and International Customers, please call 360-379-9030 for a shipping quote. « Less

Unusual antique Art Deco pendant light with original glass, patented by Nicholas Kopp for Kopp Glass, Inc. in February, 1930. This pendant light begins with an understated canopy and chain; below the fitter holds a two-part original glass shade. The upper white glass shade is segmented in a geometric shape, while the lower part of the shade features textured glass. As detailed in 1930 patent #1748776, the disc-shaped connector device is "especially designed for use with illuminating fixtures or globes comprising a plurality of parts, such, for example, as a two-part illuminating glass globe or bowl." This light fixture is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the edges. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The pendant body measures approximately 9†wide, 11-1/4†tall, and 29-3/4†long overall. « Less
