In the early 1900''s many pottery companies competed with Grueby''s success at organic forms with their own leaf vases. The leaves of this jardiniere are molded and the entire piece is covered in a thick, white, ironstone type glaze. It is unmarked, but certainly of Ohio origin, and most likely made by Zanesville Stoneware. The condition is very good, having one small chip at the base of the raised foot. The top is not a perfect circle when viewed from directly above, but still displays beautifully. Status: For Sale Reference#: 07063001 Condition: very good Year: c. 1910 Country: USA Maker: attr. This is a large three legged English majolica planter in the style of George Jones. The planter measures 11'' tall by 4 1/2'' in diameter. It features a cobalt blue background with a scenic on the body of deer in a wooded area surrounded by trees. The interior is pale pink and the base is that grungy green with a white rim. This is a wonderful and unusual display piece. It is in AS IS condition with many cracks and old repairs. I purchased it in the English countryside from a majolica dealer who specialized in old and repaired majolica in 1990. It has been in my garden since. Though it is not perfect, it is still perfect for display and plopping a pot of geraniums in it for a lovely centerpiece. P-6512. Please ask questions as I consider all sales as final. This is a beautiful Art Nouveau jardinere with cobalt blue backround. The outside of the vase is decorated with purple to lavender irises and green foliage. This piece was professionally repaired after the Northridge earthquake by restoration artist Edith Schroeder. It had small dings on the edges and base. It is in excellent restored condition. A rare and decorative object perfect for any decor. I purchased this piece and it''s pedestal base in France in 1990. The base was broken in the earthquake and the jardinere has been in my home since. Status: For Sale Reference#: 12521 Condition: great restored Year: 1900 Country: French Maker: unknown Height: 8 in.
