Victorian, circa 1880 JRL Majolica pictorial compote with a green center depicting a nurse carrying a tray on which there is a glass and a cup and saucer, surrounded by an ochre border adorned with pink and white flowers. Encircled by a wide cobalt band with floral molding and a brown rim. Mottled green and ochre glazes to reverse. Stand decorated with the same cobalt floral pattern, with an ochre rope twist ring at the top. Cream glaze inside the stand and impressed maker''s mark ''J.R L.''. Generally good. No cracks. One tight hairline to the foot rim, only visible on underside. Minor bruise to the rim. One under rim flake. Some wear to the center. Kiln effect: several glaze misses around the rim.
