Set of 12 Venetian / Murano art glasses in bright red enameled and gilded glass with clear twisted foot. Made Murano near Venice, mid 20th century - approx 1950. Height a tad under 5inches. Diameter of rim 3 7/8inches. Each ovoid bowl enamelled with a shaped c-scroll cartouche containing a heavenly body - cherub or winged angelic women, many playing instruments, all at different tasks. Each enamel scene is unique and different from the others. Flanked by gold scrolling, trellises and swags and flowers with a pair of gold cherubs on either side. Small gold masks on the sides of each glass. Enamel flower sprays and garlands above and below each cartouche and mask.Spiral, twisting clear glass foot.Excellent condition. Very solid Sheffield Plate silver wine cooler. Made in England, early 19th century. 9 1/2inches tall. Removable top. Ring in the bottom to hold wine bottle securely. Urn shape on round foot. Fluted decoration to sides, base and handle. Beaded inner rim to top. Rich repousse vineleaf and shell decoration around outer rim shows first quality workmanship. Magnificent handles, curve up gently, fluted with an overlay of foliage. Each handle is connected to the body of the wine cooler by a fantastic satyr''s mask with long ears, hooked nose, foliage for hair and waving beard. Like most early Sheffield silver, there are no hallmarks. The quality of the actual silver is fabulous with a minimum of bleeding on the rim of the foot, showing the copper underneath. Delft blue and white decanter handpainted with a windmill in a landscape on one side and flowers on the other. Measures 7 1/4inches high. Classic round body with handle and spout and a fitted lid. Round foot. All parts decorated in blue patterns and flowers. Front has landscape scene of a house and windmill behind flat fields, birds flying overhead in a lightly clouded sky. Underneath is marked N.J. 50/12 1/2 Herman Jansen. Distillers Since Schiedam - 1777 Holland. There are original stickers on the decanter including one that reads partially: 1910 Manchester Industrial Exhibition. Condition is very good. There is a tiny chip on the back of the base. I am in hopes that someone will recognize the cutting house or pattern of this stunning decanter. I've looked for a signature, but so far, no luck.Measuring approximately 10" in height with the faceted stopper in place, this piece also features beautiful cuts on the neck, spout and handle as shown.I have gone over this decanter very carefully and haven't found any imperfections. There is a VERY minor bit of residue in the interior, which I will leave to the attention of the new owner, but this is a gorgeous, gorgeous piece which looks absolutely fabulous in a lighted display.   « Less
