Exceptional John Hoare cut glass vase that is a extremely fine example of American Brilliant cut glass from its golden age. Stands over 12'' tall and is girthy with a beautiful checked etching and a star top. very good condition with no teeth missing or chipped. Overall condition is at least an 8 or 9 out of 10. Minor wear as per normal and signed on the base. Excellent example and a beautiful piece to add to any cut glass collection. Spectacular piece with great color contrast. Circa 1890 and stands about 6'' tall. The Webb ''propellor mark'' that we now know for fact that this mark is the mark of the Harrach glass factory used mainly during the Victorian era, from around 1890 to 1920. the Harrach glass factory is one of the oldest glass houses still in operation today (2012 will be it''s 300th anniversary!). Harrach was initially run by Count Harrach, and opened in 1712. It''s located in the small town of Harrachov in Northern Bohemia, less then a mile from Poland, in what was once part of Austria, then Czechoslovakia, and is now the Czech Republic. Back lighting the vase reveals that it is multilayer with green coming through in the depth of the pond water shading to blue on the surface. Very interesting and realistic.
