This is a beautiful hand made composition Art Deco box. The boc top is covered with glass to hold the printed image of a stunning ballerina. The interior of the box is exceptional, having been lined with purple silk velvet and accented with fine French lingerie flowers in an upper corner. The box is suitable for many uses including storage of very special items. The lid does scrape where the tab opens and there are a few tiny nicks but it is in overall excellent vintage condition. Hand painted tile made and signed by Art Deco Aesthetic Movement artist Fritz Hudler c1930.Measures 6inches square.Tile depicts a beautiful youth with curly golden hair, dressed in a brown roll-necked top - perhaps hinting at a monk or saint. Both hands raised. On one finger perches a little bird - quite unafraid. The mysterious downward look of the man may hint at mysticism and religion. Sensuous lips and long, tapering fingers, sinuous neck and gentle curving branch with delicate leaves. Glaze back and front of tile.Signed lower left FH. Condition is very good. Massive and unique original DEMETRE H CHIPARUS verdigris bronze seated nude sculpture. Originally foundried in Paris circa 1925-1930's by Romanian sculptor, DEMETRE H. CHIPARUS. This bronze personifies the geometric precision and balance which is unique to the ART DECO movement, strongly influenced by Chiparus. The original sculpture is 19" (48 1/2 cm) in length on the base measurement. Height is 17 1/2" (44 1/2cm)from top of her head to base. The nude figure is poised, sophisticated, and timeless. This is a rare offering of an ART DECO masterpiece, Not an excuse for a rediculously overpriced knockoff. There are no repairs, or damage. Interior shows remains of castings, etc. A small (1/4 inch) hairline foundry crack is on the back of the neck of the sculpture. Otherwise, mint condition. Very stylish 1934 Art Deco digital designer clock by Walter Darwin Teague for GE. Brown Bakelite case is in very good condition. No chips, cracks, scratches, or damage of any kind to either the bakelite or the metal. Has a very attractive and clean face. A good polishing would take this from very nice to stunning. The metal is all present and in good condition. Works well, keeps good time. Probably should be rewired for safety, but as with all vintage clocks we recommend that you use this for decoration rather than function. You don't see these clocks in this kind of condition often, don't hesitate!   « Less
