An unusual 1930''s French Art Deco four-light chandelier in original, beautifully worn black finish over hammered iron. It has a circular ring with Art Deco half round details that holds a 10'' ribbed and ziggarette detailed clear glass shade with two white bands. Three whimsically curved iron arms spring from the half-moon details and hold jar-shaped glass shades which have unusual iron skirts. A cone shaped cluster composed of six straps finishes off the chandelier. The chandelier and all the shades (there are no cracks or breaks to the glass) are in excellent condition. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The overall diameter is 22'', the length of the chandelier only is 29'', and the overall length is 45''. Classic Art Deco lamp in smoky Lalique style moulded glass and exceptionally modelled butterfly woman in bronze and celluloid.Measures 11 1/4inches high.The base is like a layered Deco building with graded sizes, smaller as they go up. Shaped like a flower, with the petals carved into wonderful pyramidal and fanlike geometric shapes that lead the eye towards the figure perched on top. The butterfly lady is wonderfully modelled so that while she is dressed and hooded, her clothes emphasize her form, both back and front. The clothes are in the form of a butterfly costume, finely detailed. The modelling and texture of the bronze have an almost buttery tactile look.The lamp is in excellent, original condition. Very close scrutiny will reveal a tiny chip under the base, quite unnoticeable and the gilding of the bronze is naturally, very slightly worn on the legs. Art Deco figurine of a woman dressed as a butterfly. Lamp base. Made by the W. Goebel factory, Rodental, Bavaria, Germany 1923-49.approximately 12 inches tall.Round base with original facility for passing an electric cord and supporting a lamp.Finest porcelain depicting a young woman, bobbed hair with a masquerade crown on her head. Arms outstretched to show the fantastic butterfly costume. Her body in purples, pinks and blues, the wings in yellow, green, red with circles and peacock eye decoraton. The back as outstanding as the front. Marked underneath with incised Goebel mark for 1923-49 as well as blue underglaze mark and E.F. 168 and DEP. Condition is excellent but for some glaze loss on her left index finger and glaze hairlines on the base - shown clearly in the ''photos. Circa 1930. Rare and wonderful Art Deco polar bear lamp. I originally purchased this exceptional alabaster lamp for my personal collection but never quite found the right spot for display in my home. The lamp consists of a large jagged ice berg with two polar bears, one on each level. The polar bear on top is standing and looking down, the lower level bear is lying down with it's front paws crossed and it's head up. The lamp is lit from a socket inside the base (iceberg) which softly glows when lit. The bears are both removable with metal pins in them that fit in holes on the base. Each bear has black eyes. As with the vast majority of antique and vintage alabaster, the lamp has suffered some chips over the years, each bear bearing some scars which can be seen in the photos. I also think the bottom end of the iceberg on the side where the wire enters was originally longer. It is in completely "as found" condition, with no restorations or repairs, original socket and wire. That being said, it still displays very well and would work as a fine sculpture as well as a light. 11 " tall x 13 1/2" wide x 5 1/2" deep. Price 1200.00   « Less
