Stunning antique French boudoir clock set, white variegated specimen marble and ormolu. Clock is in the shape of a portico with the sunburst pendulum swinging between the pillars. Original pendulum is also ormolu with a blued steel rod. Marble is a lovely pinkish white with silver grey striations running through it. The clock movement is housed in an ormolu drum sitting on top of the marble pillars with beautiful enamel dial and decorated with floral swags and original delicately fretted gilt brass hands. Clock is surmounted by a pair of gilded love birds. The marble urns stand on serpentine shaped bases to match the clock. The French movement is of excellent quality and is by the Parisian maker Marcel Corpet (Rue Amerlot 84, Paris). It runs for 8 days and strikes on a bell and is complete with the original bell and pendulum, and a suitable key. Large and stunning clock set and ready for your home!
